Description

MineCut is a video editor that runs inside Minecraft. Press F7 and play. MineCut records the world around you as a replay: every mob, block change and particle. Later you open the editor, fly a camera through the recording, add music, titles and effects, and export the finished video. You never leave the game.
Because the replay stores the world instead of your screen, you are not stuck with the angle you were looking from. You can film the same moment again as a slow orbit, a low dolly shot or a top-down view, and slow it down to 0.05x without stretched frames.
How it works
Record. Press F7 to start and stop. Choose a plain screen video, a replay, or both at once. Pick how far around you to record: 32, 64, 128 or 256 blocks.
Film. Open the Camera Studio, fly through the recording and drop keyframes. The path between them is a smooth spline you can drag around in 3D. Playback goes from 0.05x to 16x, forwards or backwards.

Edit. Press M for the editor. Drag the replay onto the timeline next to your own videos, music and images. Trim, split, add titles, transitions and colour grading. Everything can be undone.
Export. Pick a size, frame rate and format. MineCut renders every frame, mixes the audio and checks the file before it says it is done.

Edit by asking your coding assistant
MineCut runs a small MCP server on your computer while the game is open. In File > Settings > AI assistants you can connect it with one click to Codex, Codex CLI, Claude Code, Claude Code CLI, Antigravity, Visual Studio Code and Cursor. Your assistant can then read the timeline, import files, cut clips, set up camera moves, add titles, start a recording and export.
The server only listens on 127.0.0.1 and refuses requests without its access token. Other servers in your assistant's config are left alone, and each file is backed up before the first change.
Install
- Install Fabric Loader with Fabric API, or NeoForge.
- Put the MineCut file for your loader in your mods folder.
- For video import, screen recording and export, install FFmpeg and add its bin folder to PATH, or choose the folder later in MineCut's settings. Replays work without it.
- Join a world. Press M for the editor or F7 to record.
MineCut only needs to be installed on your own game. Servers do not need it.
Known limits
- Screen recording does not capture game audio. Add music in the editor.
- On servers, a replay only contains the area and entities the server sent to you.
- Clouds, stars and falling rain are not drawn in replays.
- Replay particles reset when you jump around in the timeline.
