Unfortunately, due to personal reasons, this mod has been discontinued.
First off: The mod's codebase has essentially been completely scrapped and is currently being completely remade by yours truly.
This decision originates from just disliking how I wrote it back then, and from changes between versions. Also, it will make it easier for a following point. This rework will also add a whole lot of fancy new features, like syntax highlighting for placeholders in the presence strings, and a framework of onscreen text readers to enable automatic presence updates when a server just refuses to utilize the API. Note that this has not been started yet. Equally, I will use this chance to improve how Minecord works in general, and fix as many bugs as possible that have been brought to my attention here.
Secondly, Minecord will move to the Fabric Mod Loader TEMPORARILY.
A couple of things that none of you should really care about led to me abandoning Forge and migrate to the Fabric mod loader. This is, however, not a permanent change, but is rather a way to keep developing the mod and it's modules further in a more pleasant environment for myself. The goal is to make the mod work independent from the loader, be it Forge, Fabric, Liteloader or even Vanilla. This will, however, still take a lot of time.
Thirdly, a server-specific config system will be added, allowing players to customize what data is shared with the server for the upcoming Spigot API.
Also, a Spigot API.
Minecord's goal from the very beginning was to give server owners and developers to interact with players through discord. This will be achieved through a Spigot API that communicates with the Minecord Mod, allowing servers to set the player's activity IF THE PLAYER CHOOSES TO DO SO. This will equally allow server owners a more in-depth integration of Server<->Discord chat as well as bot integration by allowing the server to pair a Minecraft account with a unique Discord User ID. Again, you will be able to specify what information will be shared with the server, both via default settings and individual server settings.
Lastly, the Discord Activity's Join and Spectate Feature is now in development.
Discord allows games to launch themselves through Discord with a click of a single button, immediately joining a running multiplayer session. This requires support of the aforementioned game. Minecraft does not have support for it. Minecord will add it. Once it works, you will be able to send invites inside discord to friends or entire channels, which will allow them to join a running server or minigame instance lobby immediatly with just a single button click(provided they also use Minecord, because you can't make use of features that are not there). To enable full support of this feature, like adding them to parties automaticially, or process the player once they join the server, developers will need to make sure of the Spigot API. All of this does however require a lot of work, so don't expect it to happen any time soon.
One last thing.
Yes, the mod will be made open source as soon as it's reached a point where I am satisfied with it's functionality. As it stands right now, a lot of things are placeholders, unfinished pieces and worse, and I just don't want that anyone has to suffer through that nightmare.
I would like to apologize for the lack of communication in the last months, but I had a lot going on. I am currently giving my best to provide you with a updated and working version as soon as I can, but there is still much to do.
If you have any further questions, feel free to send me a message on discord. But please only do so after reading all of this and only if there is a question left unanswered that you want to know. I am a very patient person, but even I don't want to answer the same thing 12 times that I have already explained extensively in a post. If I do not reply to your message, please don't take it as a insult. It merely means that the question has already been answered in this text. The Username is Vatuu Komalia#4428.
