MineCoasters 1.9 — Survival & Crafting
Minecraft 1.21.1 · NeoForge 21.1.x
MineCoasters is now fully playable in survival. Every item has a recipe, and the build tools take real materials out of your inventory. Creative is completely unchanged — nothing is ever consumed there.
The whole mod is craftable
264 recipes, covering all 212 items.
- Steel. Ring eight raw iron around a coal (charcoal works) for eight Raw Steel, then smelt it — furnace, or blast furnace at double speed — into a Coaster Steel Ingot. The coal is a catalyst rather than an ingredient that gets divided up, so steel costs iron plus fuel rather than a multiple of iron. It's deliberately its own material: a pack running another steel mod gets two steels that don't substitute for each other.
- Fortified Sticks — a full 3×3 of plain sticks — handle every tool and every wooden piece.
- Track, supports and scenery all come out gray, which is bare metal — the colour creative-placed track has always been. Recolour the vanilla way: eight of any colour ringed around one dye gives eight of that colour, so any colour reaches any other in one hop. Concrete footers skip that and come straight from vanilla concrete; paintbrushes take the wool whose colour they become.
- Everything crafts in a normal crafting table. No workbench block to find.
Building costs materials
- Track and supports are priced by LENGTH, not per connection. A twelve-block run costs the same whether you spend one anchor on it or three, so anchor spacing stays a question of how the track should look. One Track Piece covers two blocks by default (configurable); a vertical loop is about sixteen.
- Deleting gives it back. Remove a connection with the Linker or a beam with the Support Wrench and the pieces return — slightly fewer on a curve, which is scrap. Breaking an anchor pops out everything attached to it: the anchor, its track, and any support beams hanging off it.
- The Element Placer quotes its price on the HUD before you click, tells you exactly what you're short of if you can't afford it, and refunds the whole bill if you press Z straight afterwards.
- Carrying 3 red and 40 blue track pieces? It builds in blue. A colour you can't afford is skipped rather than refusing the build, and partial stacks add up.
- Two config knobs, live-editable in the Mods screen:
survivalMetresPerSteelPieceandsurvivalMetresPerWoodenPiece.
The Manual has a full recipe reference
41 recipe entries across six sections, each drawn as a real crafting grid with the actual item icons — hover a slot for its tooltip. Plus a new Building in Survival section covering what costs what, what refunds, and what doesn't.
