Mimicry is a simple mod that hooks into OreDictionary and Furnace Recipes to add a resource mimicry factor to Minecraft. Combine 1 mimichite in a crafting grid with any smeltable item and get double the output. Craft with any dye color to get more dye. Explore NEI or CraftBook to find all the recipes I've added for the ore dictionary. This isn't an item duplication mod. You have to mine this stuff or craft it to use it. Server owners can modify crafting output amount for the mimichite item itself. Ore spawn rate is also configurable.
How exactly do you get "double the output"? Does it change the smeltable item in some way without changing what it is (i.e. adding some nbt tags, etc.)?

In 1.7, it hooks into NEI and pretty much makes new recipes for everything. In smelting, it's literally just fuel that lasts twice as long as charcoal/coal. The only 'doubling' mechanic is in the recipes.
Is this mod in Development (it difficult), Discontinued or Abandoned?

When it happens it'll be a complete rewrite. I do have access to the original code for inspiration, but as many many things changed code-wise since 1.7 the code itself will have to be completely redone.

Just as a small question, how close are you to updating to 1.8? I don't mean to rush or pressure you in any way. I'm just curious...
I have it updated all except for texture rendering. They changed the texture registration code in 1.8 and I haven't had time to look into it. This new IBlockState mess that's supposed to make things easier is just 1 more thing we have to figure out as modders. It's a fun concept though.

Without knowing what mod is causing mimicry to crash, all I can do is guess as to what the cause of the crash is. That results in numerous updates and waiting for users to test and report the same crash over and over.
If you could, please pinpoint what mod is causing this crash when combined with Mimicry.

Try the new version and see if that fixed it. I was missing a null check in a spot that in most cases wouldn't need it.
Still crashing with the new version. Trying to find time to see which mod is conflicting
