Description
Military NPC's & Bases
Soldiers hold the compound. Bandits come for it after dark. Renegades shoot at both, and at each other, and at you.
Military NPC's & Bases adds two things that need each other: eleven real firearms with calibre locked ammunition, and a generated military base big enough to have its own airfield and a three level laboratory bunker underneath it.
Eleven guns, six calibres
| Weapon | Calibre | Magazine | Rounds per pull | Damage per round |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| AK-14 | 7.62x39mm | 30 | 1 | 7.0 |
| M16 | 5.56x45mm | 30 | 3 | 5.0 |
| MAC-10 | .45 ACP | 32 | 2 | 3.5 |
| TEC-9 | 9x19mm | 32 | 2 | 3.0 |
| Remington 870 | 12 Gauge | 6 | 1 x 8 | 2.6 |
| M24 | 7.62x39mm | 5 | 1 | 14.0 |
| M60 | 7.62x39mm | 100 | 3 | 5.5 |
| Desert Eagle | .50 AE | 7 | 1 | 11.0 |
| Glock-17 | 9x19mm | 17 | 1 | 4.0 |
| P90 | .45 ACP | 50 | 3 | 3.2 |
| SPAS-12 | 12 Gauge | 8 | 1 x 6 | 2.4 |
Right click fires. Sneak and right click swaps the magazine. Fire dry and the gun reloads itself if you are carrying the right rounds - and only the right rounds, because nothing in this mod chambers a calibre it was not built for.
Every shot is a real ray: it stops at the first wall, hits the first thing in the way, and leaves a tracer so both of you can see where it went. Crouching tightens your group, sprinting throws it wide, and firing mid jump is a waste of ammunition.
Two melee weapons round the kit out: the combat knife is fast and weak, the machete hits about as hard as an iron sword, and the riot baton barely hurts at all but takes your legs.
Seven kinds of people
| NPC | Health | Behaviour |
|---|---|---|
| Soldier | 30 | The rank and file. Ignores you until you shoot, then so does every uniform who heard it. |
| Officer | 36 | Hears trouble from fifty blocks and hands you to everyone around him. |
| Sniper | 24 | Engages at nearly the full range of the M24 with a tighter cone than you have. |
| Heavy Gunner | 44 | A hundred rounds of belt and twenty armour. Slow, obvious, hard to kill. |
| Bunker Guard | 40 | Waits underground with a riot baton or a Desert Eagle, in corridors two blocks wide. |
| Bandit | 22 | Spawns in the dark. Goes after players, villagers, iron golems and the garrison. |
| Renegade | 20 | Shoots at every living thing it can see, its own kind included. |
The five uniformed types are one faction. Fire one shot and every uniform who heard it comes looking.
A base with an airfield, and a laboratory under it
The military base is an eighty by eighty walled compound: eight watchtowers, two barracks blocks, a headquarters under a twenty block radio mast, a reinforced armoury, a fenced ammunition dump and a motor pool. The south half is an airfield with a marked runway, a hangar with a fighter jet inside, a glazed control tower, a helipad with a helicopter on it, and a four engine transport parked at the threshold with its cargo ramp down.
There is a hatch in the floor of the headquarters. Under it are three levels of bunker, and every one is a real maze - carved by a depth first search with a braiding pass on top, so it has loops and dead ends and you cannot solve it by keeping one hand on the wall. Specimen tanks, server rooms, a containment cell, a medbay, weapon caches, and a vault at the bottom around a reactor core.
Wire
Barbed wire and the electrified version are placeable blocks. Neither stops you: they drag you almost to a standstill and cut you every time you move, which is what wire is actually for. Bandits string the scavenged kind round their camps; the compound runs a current through the top of its whole perimeter.
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.21.1
- NeoForge 21.1.x
No other mods required. Both structures respect biome tags, so a datapack can move them or turn them off.
