Meteorborn
Meteors fall from the sky. What crawls out of them wants a host.
Meteorborn is a Forge mod about alien life that arrives on meteorites. Bond with a symbiote, grow into an elemental form, travel to the Meteor Belt and the elemental realms, and forge weapons from the ores you find there.
Features
Meteors and symbiotes
- Natural meteors fall in the Overworld and release alien creatures. Meteors never land near your bed or spawn point (128-block safe zone).
- Bond with a symbiote of one of 12 elements: Ember, Umbra, Frost, Void, Verdant, Volt, Acid, Blood, Stone, Light, Wind and Mind.
- Each element gives its own powers, forms and abilities. You level up your bond to unlock more.
Dimensions
- Build a portal ritual from Karmonyum to enter the Meteor Belt.
- Each element also has its own realm dimension with its own biomes, creatures and ores.
- A floating boss arena is generated as a real structure. It is locatable with
/locate structure meteorborn:boss_arena.
Ores, ingots and weapons
- 12 realm ores, 12 raw ores, 12 ingots and 12 ingot blocks. Each element has its own look.
- 13 elemental weapons with 3D models and their own abilities, each with 3D visual effects:
- War Axe, Shadow Dagger, Katana, Light Sword, Frost Hammer, Chakram, Scythe, Nature Bow, Acid Sickle, Serrated Blood Sword, Mace, Shield and Mind Staff.
- Craft each weapon from its element ingot, a Karmonyum ingot and a stick.
- The Vaxkor Spear drops from the Belt boss. Throw it and it flies back to you.
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.21.1, Forge 52.1.20 or newer
- GeckoLib (required, install separately)
- JEI is recommended for recipes
Included in the jar (no separate install needed):
- Better Player Animation (MIT license)
- Curios API (GPL-3.0-or-later)
Notes
- This is a large mod and it is still being tuned. Please report bugs and balance issues in the comments or on the issue tracker.
- Weapons use detailed 3D models, so very weak PCs may lose some FPS when many are visible.
