Description
First question that comes to your mind:
Why?
Short answer:
Why not?
Long answer:
While working with CT images I realized it'd be possible to present outcomes of segmentation or whole images in Minecraft. Voxel is a point in 3 dimensions that has some value that depends on the type of measuring device and body tissue. So it's quite easy to map them to Minecraft as blocks. Maybe you have some of your old results and you'd like to do something fun with them. Now you can!
Features:
- Dynamically load images - data is loaded using command while in game. This means that mod does not require external programs, world generation before-hand or any of that. If you want to see different results you just load other files using commands. Data is taken from your main game directory/medicalimages (e.g. .minecraft/medicalimages/img.nii.gz).
- NIfTI & DICOM - mod supports 2 the most popular standards for medical images.
- CT & MRI - solution works based on boundries for values set by user which means it's compatible with both CT and MRI (tested for these 2). It should be compatible also with other types of measuring devices.
- 2D & 3D - mod provides commands to create one layer or multiple layers.
- Customization - commands take block as an argument and place them when voxel's value is between max and min value (also arguments).
- Axis selection - commands allow to select axis (plane for layers).
- New dimension - void with increased max building height so more layers can be placed. New dimension is called medical.
- Additional tools - mod contains also commands that utilize some image processing methods like central component, auto-color and more!
All commands start with /mi_ so you can type that into chat and all of them will be listed.
Of course, it is not a medical tool and cannot be used to make a diagnosis without qualified medical personnel. However, you can go into nostrils or check out spine so it's quite cool.
