The first stage of Townstead 0.8.0 compatibility adds clearer reputation entries, an integration toggle and better troubleshooting tools. Townstead continues to handle its existing building and village-spirit deeds, and to share Reputation incidents through its Chronicles.

Added

• Townstead integration toggle. The new enableTownsteadIntegration setting is enabled by default. Turning it off stops new Townstead reputation updates while preserving standing already earned. Re-enabling it does not award credit for anything that happened while it was disabled.
• Townstead diagnostics. Operators can use /mcareputation debug townstead to check compatibility, active settings, village information and whether Townstead deeds are being received and applied.
• Startup compatibility reporting. The server now reports which Townstead features are available and explains any compatibility problems.
• Expanded automated compatibility checks, including checks against Townstead 0.8.0 and its required MCA version.

Fixed

• Incomplete Townstead deed descriptions. Building deeds now show readable entries such as “Helped establish the village’s Bakery,” with translated building names where available.
• Building names also display correctly in Townstead gossip, with a readable fallback if a building type is later removed by a datapack. Custom datapack descriptions retain their own wording.

Compatibility and limitations

Townstead remains optional. The new compatibility checks use Townstead 0.8.0’s public API; older 0.7.x versions retain their existing integration behavior.

Existing saves, reputation history and network compatibility are unchanged. Nothing is reset or awarded retroactively, and Townstead’s own political standing remains separate.

Additional reputation rewards for aid, donations, commissions and training are not included yet. A Standing option in Townstead’s dialogue screen and further Chronicle improvements also depend on additional Townstead support.

Starting a new life through Townstead’s rebirth system still preserves the player’s existing standing.
