Description
Tired of witches being just an enemy that throws potions at you? Do you think Minecraft needs an update on witches and potions? Then you are in the right place! Matt's Witches Expansion completely revamps witches and potions, adding a bunch of new features like: different types of witches, flying broomsticks, the ability to mix potions in a special cauldron, crows and scarecrows, and even a brand new witch-themed boss! If you want to add a little vanilla friendly spookines to your game, if you want to feel like a badass witch or witch hunter, or if you simply wish that minecraft expanded upon it's magic system, this is the mod for you!
Features:
New types of witches:
- Flying Witch: This witch specializes in flight. She will fly around on her broomstick and attack you.
- Crow Witch: This witch has studied magic and summoning, every time you will deal an hit on her, she will summon a flock of crows to defend her.
- Pumpkin Witch: This witch has brought summoning to a whole new level, summoning flying jack o'lanterns that will attack you.
- Apprentice and Friendly Witch: Give a witch's hat to a baby villager and he will develop a keen interest in magic and alchemy. Your apprentice will follow you around and will feed on the lollypop that you give her. Once she has eaten enough, she will grow up to become a full fledge witch. Since she no longer needs your tutelage she will stop following you around, but since she studied magic under your positive influence, she will not try to hurt people, and instead will trade magic items with you!
Other mobs:
- Crows: Little flying fellows who make a habbit of destroying your crops. You can tame them with seeds, or alternatively, you can summon a scarecrow to keep them away.
- Scarecrow: A pumpkin, a hay block, a dark oak fence and a crow's feather its all you need to summon this silent protector of the fields. Just arrange those three blocks one on top of the others and right click the pumpkin with the feather. You'll see your creation come to life to protect the harvest!
Mixing potions:
- Mixing Cauldron block: Craft this very useful block with a Nether Wart, a Bucket of Water, a Stick and a Cauldron in a Crafting Table.
- Mixing potions: To mix two potions, put the Mixing Cauldron on top of an heat source (fire or campfire), then open up the GUI. In the first two slots, put the two potions you would like to mix (This only works with basic potions, to avoid making it overpowered), in the third slot, put a water bottle. The type of water bottle will determine the type of potion you'll get (Normal, Throwable or Lingering), then put some Blaze Powder in the last slot and simply hit Mix!
High Witch:
- Boss: The brand new Witch Boss! Once a very powerful witch who was defeated by witch hunters, she now roams the world as a disembodied and impotent spirit. When summoned, however, she can possess a hay statue to exact her revenge on the world of the living! Every time she is vanquised, however, a little bit of her spirit crystalizes, leaving behind a Sorcery Gem.
- Summoning: Simply stack three hay bales on top of each others, then add a pumpkin on top and give her a witch's hat. The evil spirit connected with the hat will do the rest.
Other Items
- Witch's Hat: A craftable hat made with an ender pearl and four crow's feather in a crafting table. It will grant it's wearer useful potion effects depending on the situation (water breathing if you are underwater, night vision in the dark, etc...)
- Lollypop: A tasty candy made with pumpkin, sugar and a stick.
- Crow's feather: Dropped by crows, used for crafting.
- Broomstick: Crafted with two sticks and some hay, it is useless on it's own, but when enchanted with the new enchantment "Witch's Wind" can be ridden to fly.
- Sorcery Gem: A crystalized fragment of the High Witch's soul, it contains the raw power of magic.
- Ring of Moonlight: Crafted with one block of gold and a Sorcery Gem, it is useless on it's own but it can be enchanted to give the player various powers. It recharges automatically in the player's inventory under moonlight.
Structures
- Witch's House: A medium-sized structure that spawns in swamps, it contains a medium challenge and some decent loot to help you on your journey through the mod.
- Witch's Circles: Two small structures that spawn in swamps. They serve decorative and lore-related purposes.
