Matter Overdrive (Unofficial Port)
📜 Original mod
This is an unofficial port of Matter Overdrive 0.4.2 by Simeon Radivoev and the Matter Overdrive contributors (Minecraft 1.7.10). Original source: github.com/simeonradivoev/MatterOverdrive, license GPL-3.0, which allows derivative works; this port keeps GPL-3.0-or-later. All of the content, art, sounds and ideas are the original authors'.
How this port differs from the original
- Runs on Minecraft 1.21.1 – 1.21.10 and 26.1.2, 26.2, 26.3, on NeoForge and Fabric; the original is for 1.7.10 and Forge.
- A rewrite against modern Minecraft APIs that keeps the original's behaviour, numbers, textures, sounds and translations; the 1.7.10 source is the specification.
- On Fabric, energy is FE through Team Reborn Energy (included in the jar) and items and fluids use the Fabric Transfer API.
- Translations added: Ukrainian, German, Spanish and Portuguese (Brazil) next to the original English and Russian.
The classic sci-fi technology mod is back.
Matter Overdrive turned Minecraft 1.7.10 into science fiction: matter replication, androids, phasers, anomalies and a galaxy to conquer. It never left 1.7.10. This port rebuilds all of it on Minecraft 1.21.1 – 26.3 for NeoForge and Fabric, keeping the original numbers, textures, models, sounds and quirks: if you played it in 2015, it feels exactly like you remember.

🆕 What's new in 1.0.2
- Minecraft 26.1.2, 26.2 and 26.3 on NeoForge and Fabric, with the same content as 1.21.x.
- Fabric for every version from 1.21.1 to 26.3 (Fabric API required).
- NeoForge and Fabric are built from the same code, so both loaders behave the same.
- Tritanium crates are visible again on 1.21.1 and 1.21.3 (they were invisible in 1.0.1 there).
⚙️ Features
- Matter replication: the Decomposer and Matter Recycler turn items into Matter Plasma that flows through pipes; the Matter Analyzer scans items into patterns; Pattern Storage, Pattern Monitor and Replicator build anything you have scanned. Upgrades, network filters, portable decomposer and scanner.
- Androids: take the red pill: no hunger or drowning, energy instead of food, a HUD with radar, 14 biotic abilities (shield, cloak, teleport, shockwave, nanobots and more) picked from an ability wheel, bionic parts, the blue pill to become human again.
- Energy weapons: Phaser, Phaser Rifle, Plasma Shotgun, Ion Sniper and the Omni Tool, with heat, energy packs and colour, barrel, sight and battery modules at the Weapon Station; legendary weapons with rolled bonuses.
- Star map and galaxy: a generated galaxy on a holographic Star Map; claim a homeworld, build bases, generators, matter extractors and hangars, send scout and colonizer ships.
- Gravitational anomalies and fusion power: anomalies pull in entities and eat blocks; stabilizers keep them in check; a Fusion Reactor around one makes huge amounts of energy.
- World and quests: tritanium and dilithium ores, tritanium tools and the 3D tritanium armor, rogue androids, the Mutant Scientist, crashed ships and android houses, the Mad Scientist with his quests and trades, Contract Market, Transporter, Holo Signs and the full Data Pad guide.
- 6 languages: English, Russian, Ukrainian, German, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil).

Every version has a NeoForge jar and a Fabric jar. Energy is standard FE (on Fabric through Team Reborn Energy, included in the jar, 1 E = 1 FE); items, fluids and energy connect to other tech mods through NeoForge capabilities or the Fabric Transfer API; ores and ingots use c: tags.
🛠️ Installation
- Put the jar for your loader and Minecraft version into
mods/on the server and on every client. Fabric also needs Fabric API. - Start with a Data Pad (book + isolinear circuit): it holds the in-game guide with every recipe and machine.
⚡ Performance
Measured against vanilla in the same scene: a base of 576 working Matter Overdrive machines and pipes costs about what 576 burning vanilla furnaces cost, in frame rate and in server tick time, on NeoForge and Fabric and on 1.21.x and 26.x. Idle machines render like plain blocks, and gravitational anomalies scan their surroundings cheaply.

✅ Tested
Every release runs 101 in-game tests (GameTests) on both loaders and a scripted client scene of 142 screenshots (every machine, GUI, mob, structure, weapon and the star map); the Fabric release jar is also checked in a production client.
