Your Twitch chat plays Vault Hunters with you.

MasuCompanion turns a Vault Hunters stream into a game the whole audience plays together. Viewers vote on what hits your vault, charge a shared meter that fires big ultimates, predict how the run ends, grab loot gems that fly across the stream and win a seat in the next run's spotlight squad, where they follow you through the vault as allies wearing their own Minecraft skin.

You play as usual. Inside a vault everything runs by itself: the only choice you make is the spice in the portal room.

What your viewers do

• Fate votes: every few minutes chat picks one of three real Vault Hunters modifiers (a blessing, a curse or some chaos) and it lands on your vault.
• Crowd ultimates: watching, voting, Bits, subs, hype trains and channel points fill a shared meter. When it is full, chat picks a big ultimate.
• Predictions: in the portal room viewers stake Masurium, a free in-stream currency, on how the run goes: the outcome, the objective, run time, champions killed and more.
• Prediction jackpot: calls nobody got right, plus half the value of the loot gems nobody caught, go into a jackpot you roll at the end of stream. One viewer wins it all.
• Loot bursts: a rare chest, a champion kill, an ultimate or the objective's reward crate sends gems flying across the stream. Every viewer grabs their own.
• Spotlight squad: an MVP and two lucky draws join each run as little big-headed allies in their own skins, with titles, name colours and particle trails. They wave, cheer and dance on command and use a signature ability like Heal Burst or Treasure Sense. They never fight and mobs ignore them.
• Progression: levels, seasons with a reward track, a cosmetics shop and a public profile on masucraft.eu.

Viewers play through the MasuCompanion Twitch extension on your stream, or with !1, !2, !3 and !predict in chat. They install nothing.

What you see in game

• The squad reveal in the portal room: your three allies as 3D models, with how each won their seat.
• The Briefing: pick the run's spice (Chill, Spicy or Chaos) and see the squad and the open predictions.
• The crowd HUD on the edges of your screen: the open vote numbered for chat, the meter, shoutouts, loot bursts and your squad. Every part moves in Vault Hunters' HUD editor.
• The Control Deck (End): connection status, previews, run tools and the jackpot. Shift + End pauses or resumes fate votes; Ctrl + End opens the next vote now.

How to set it up

MasuCompanion is a Forge mod plus a free online service. Your setup lives in the MasuCompanion dashboard at masucraft.eu/companions, which checks each step for you:

1. Sign in with Twitch, connect your Twitch permissions and add the MasuCompanion extension to your channel as an overlay.
2. Pick where you play: request access to a server that runs MasuCompanion, or create a personal key for singleplayer and LAN.
3. Install this mod in your own game. On a server, the owner installs it there too.
4. Link your Minecraft account with /companion link <code>.
5. Start a vault.

Who needs the mod

• The streamer: yes, in their own game.
• The server: yes, when you play on a server (in singleplayer your own game is the server).
• Other players on the server: no. They can join without it and see the squad allies at full size.

Server owners

Register your server in the dashboard. After approval you get a server key: put it in config/masucompanion-common.toml, or run /masucompanion server connect <key> as an operator. You decide which streamers play on your server, which fate effects are allowed, the highest spice and which systems run.

Vaults that are played solo

Greed, Herald, Architect, Speedrun, Time Trial, Paradox, Ascension, Personal Vault, Royale and PvP vaults get no MasuCompanion: no votes, predictions, bursts or squad. You get one line on screen and your viewers see that this vault is played solo.

Online service and privacy

MasuCompanion connects to the MasuCompanion service at companions.masucraft.eu. A connected server sends a heartbeat with the linked streamer accounts that are online (other players are never sent), the vault runs of linked streamers (start, timer, outcome and run statistics such as champions killed) and the results of the effects it applied. Masurium has no real-world value and cannot be bought. What is stored, what is public and how viewers hide themselves is in the privacy policy.

Requirements

• Minecraft 1.18.2
• Forge 40.3.11 (any Forge 40 build for 1.18.2)
• Vault Hunters: VH3 Remastered or Wold's Vaults
• A Twitch account for the streamer

Live-tested with Vault Hunters Remastered (the_vault 20.0.3-remastered.6872) and Wold's Vaults 0.34.1 (the_vault 3.21.6.6884).
