What's new

Rebuilt for Minecraft 26.3.

  • The cartography table works on compasses. A lodestone compass in the map slot with a plain compass beside it gives two pointing at the same lodestone. A map with any compass gives the map back with an X where that compass points - a lodestone, your last death, the world spawn - without spending the compass, as long as the place is on the map. Marks from several compasses gather on the one map, and they are kept the way an explorer map's X is, so they survive copying, framing and a vanilla client.
  • A map in an item frame on the floor stands up as the land it shows: sneak and use it with an empty hand and it rises out of the frame as a miniature of the ground it covers, trees on their trunks, lakes and rivers, rock breaking through a hillside, every block in its own colour and tinted by its biome, with a cut through the ground down the sides. Do it again and it lies flat. The frame remembers, not the map, so the setting survives a restart and a new map in that frame stands up too. A map drawn under a roof - the Nether, or any dimension with a ceiling - has no land to raise, and rises as a flat slab of netherrack.
  • Maps framed side by side on the floor are one table, and redstone stands the whole table up: a lever, a button or dust reaching any of them raises every map on it and lays them down when the power goes. It turns as a wave from the switch, each map a beat behind the one before with a note that climbs as it goes out, so where you put the switch decides how the table comes alive.
  • Block Magnet, a treasure enchantment for compasses up to level III, found on books and sold by librarians. Use it on a block and the compass takes that kind up, then points at the nearest other block of it within thirty-two. Each level feels for one more kind at once; using it on a new kind takes that up too, and three times running on one kind drops the rest. The block you used it on and the rest of its vein do not count, so used on one diamond ore it points at the next vein rather than the ore in front of you. In the compass slot it draws a radar of what it feels, with the nearest marked; with a map in the other slot they are dots on the minimap instead.
  • Mob Sight works without a map: a compass carrying it draws a radar in the minimap's corner. Dots for everything alive within 32 blocks, turned with you so straight up is the way you are looking: red hostile, green passive, blue villagers, orange the rest, white other players, and bigger dots for bigger creatures. Anything well above or below you is dimmed. The compass target sits on the rim with its distance underneath.
  • Every minimap setting is your own, on the Map++ page of the Pandorical mods menu: which corner, how big, how much padding, how far it zooms, whether the line of facing and coordinates shows under it, and whether hostiles and other mobs are drawn. The config file only decides what a player starts with; these used to be the server's alone.
  • A line under the minimap says which way you are facing and where you are.
  • Other players on the map are a diamond in the colour of their dot on the locator bar (their /waypoint colour, their team's, or the one the game gives them), where they were white, or their team colour only when they had one. The radar draws them the same way. Invisible players stay off the map and the radar, as they do off the locator bar.
  • With Minedew Fishing installed, the minimap, the needle and the radar stand aside while the fishing minigame is up, and come back when it is over.
  • Mob Sight and Scroll have descriptions where a mod shows them.
  • A new mod icon.

Requires Pandorical 1.3.10 or later on the server and on each player's client.
