# Technical Changes

Spirit Types
- Spirit Types are now a Deferred Registry
- This is a significant internal change that ideally should not affect gameplay whatsoever
- However this does mean that spirit registry names now come with a mod identifier in addition to a name
- Any third party compat will need to be updated accordingly

Spirit Rites
- Spirit Rites are now a Deferred Registry
- This is a significant internal change that ideally should not affect gameplay whatsoever
- Any addon, such as Gaze which adds more totem rites will need to be updated accordingly

Recipes
- Updated the formats for most recipes added by Malum
- Any third party recipe compat needs to be updated accordingly

KubeJS
- Added KubeJS compat for all Malum recipes
- Check the wiki for example use cases, if the appropriate code snippets are not there remind me to add them
- The Runic Workbench Recipes are still a little weird with KubeJS, this is an issue on their side from what I understand

# New Stuff & Tweaks

The Book
- Added tweening to the motion of the background and book objects
- Added a neat hover effect for when you place your mouse atop an entry
- Updated the fade that appears around the outline of the frame
- The outline now properly renders atop item models
- The background is now slightly darker, creating better contrast
- Lots of smaller improvements that would take a while to note in preparation for a much more significant batch of improvements

Spirit Rites
- A lot of spirit rites have been completely redone
- Most notably, rites which affect the world now utilize a Rite Locus system
- The Rite Locus can be modified via Rite Anchors

Rite Anchors
- Imbue with a spirit to define a travel vector
- Any Rite Locus that wanders onto the Rite Anchor follows suite
- Different spirits empower the Rite Locus in different ways

Rite Unwaver
- Kills the rite locus if any is found!

Ravenous Pouch
- Added the Ravenous Pouch
- The Ravnous Pouch will snatch up any item that it already stores
- Offers 8 stacks worth of space, but does not store magical items more efficiently

Soulwoven Pouch
- Based on Community Feedback, the autocollection of a large amount of goods was rather undesirable as it no longer allowed for a dedicated early game spirit storage option
- The Soulwoven Pouch now only automatically collects spirits, but still stores most malum content extra effectively

Gust Igniter & Wind Tunnel
- Added the Gust Igniter and Wind Tunnels
- These can be used to add some comfortable manoeuvrability options to your base

Spellweaving Tools
- Added Spellweaving Tools capable of breaking multiple blocks at once

Runic Workbench
- The Runic Workbench now has a new Model, Sounds, and Visuals for crafting
- The Recipe is also changed to better reflect it's new look
- Runic Workbench Recipes can now support regular items with a secondary input
 - Currently this behavior lacks a unique crafting animation, if any modpack dev ends up using this functionality ping me and I'll whip something up

Boats
- Added Runewood & Soulwood Chest Boats
- Updated the Item and Entity textures for Runewood & Soulwood Boats

Soulwoven Banners
- Added one new Soulwoven Banner Pattern
- Soulwoven Banners now have a new particle effect for being Imbued with a Spirit
- Soulwoven Banners now have a new particle effect for being Sheared

Waveform Artifice
- Polished up the Internal Logic of all the Waveform Diodes
- Changed the Sound used by the Diodes

Soul Stained Steel Armor
- The Soul Stained Steel Armor now has a new model

Malignant Stronghold Armor
- The Malignant Stronghold Armor now has a new model
- The Malignant Stronghold Chestplate now comes with two scarves instead of one
- Pride Scarves retain old functionality
- No Longer Eats Iron's Spellbooks Magic Resistances
- Each piece now grants 25% Magic Resistance

Malignant Conversion
- No longer grants Armor Toughness
- No longer grants Magic Resistance
- Now grants a new attribute called Malignant Aegis
- Malignant Aegis functions similarly to Soul Ward
- Instead of absorbing a portion of damage, Malignant Aegis will completely nullify it
- Capacity increases as the armor absorbs more and more magic

Necklace of the Hidden Blade
- Now always deals a minimum of 10 damage
- Damage Bonus based on damage taken scales slightly faster, for each heart and a half it will add 15% damage, this used to be 20% but with a higher health requirement
- No Longer Damages Armor
- This should hopefully enable the trinket to feel more rewarding on it's own while still allowing for some crazy strength

Sundering Anchor
- The Sundering Anchor now has reduced throw cooldown if it did not hit any enemies
- The Sundering Anchor Projectile will no longer target Tamed Animals
- The Sundering Anchor Projectile will not target Players that do not already have the Hatred effect applied, unless Players are the only available target

Pact of the Prospector
- Originally Pact of the Flamekeeper
- Updated Behavior
- Now Grants stacks of Prospector's Steak when Collecting Resources from Mined Ores
- Prospector's Steak grants Fortune Change and Mining Speed
- Taking Damage Removes Prospector's Streak and Ignites You
- Added VFX to Ignition Effect

This Geas was the last one I added before the update and as such it felt a little rushed.
I think it lacked a clear identity, Fortune Chance was a rather unexplored attribute in Malum and I figured it'd make a great addition here
It's name matches the Belt of the Prospector 

Pact of the Profane Glutton
- Updated Behavior
- Gluttony becomes Desperate Need
- Desperate Need is consumed when attacking with a scythe to trigger a Poisonous Slash
- Poisonous Slashes apply Poison proportional to the amount of Desperate Need stacks
- Taking Poison Damage Spreads the Poison to you
- Taking Hunger Damage Poisons You

I wasn't too happy with the execution of this geas, I think this change in behavior really helps it
It's meant to serve as an aggressive glass cannon type deal, before this change it lacked a visual representation for your growth in strength, which the slashes help combat.
It also lacked a downside that felt right and unique, incorporating poison into the geas helps with that a lot I think

Pact of the Berserker
- Buffed Wrath Gain Rate Slightly

Pact of Wyrd Reconstruction
- Cooldown reduced to 30 minutes

Pact of the Cloudskipper
- No longer increases gravity with consecutive wind charge uses
- Rebalanced wind gust effectiveness bonus slightly
- Now enhances Ascension in general, regardless of source
- Enhanced Ascension increases horizontal manouverability based on upwards velocity

Oath of the Overkeen Eye
- Improved Homing Effect Consistency
- Changed downside from reduced Charge Duration to reduced Charge Gain Rate

Oath of Unmakers Disdain
- Slash Count and Damage now increases through Malignant Conversion
- Downside replaced with a decrease to Malignant Aegis Capacity

Oath of Unsighted Resistance
- No longer increases armor when triggering Malignant Deliverance
- Now recharges Malignant Aegis when triggering Malignant Deliverance
- Damage is reduced only when recharging

Authority of the Gleeful Target
- Can no longer activate from Drowning Damage
- Can now trigger when taking Armor-Piercing Damage which includes magic, allowing it to better interact with Patience Repaid
- Can not trigger when taking Drowning Damage specifically
- No Longer allows effects to Tick, preventing very niche scenarios where Poison or Wither will still damage you

# Textrues
- Retextured the Runewood Obelisk
- Retextured the Brilliant Obelisk
- Retextured the Tyrving
- Retextured Mnemonic Fragment
- Retextured Malignant Lead
- Retextured the Soul Stained Steel Ingot, Nugget and Plating
- Retextured Soul Stained Steel Tools, Weapons, and Armor
- Retextured the Hallowed Gold Ingot and Nugget
- Retextured the Malignant Pewter Ingot, Nugget and Plating
- Retextured Malignant Stronghold Armor

- Retextured the effect icons for: Ascension, Gluttony, Desperate Need, Flawed Aim, True Shot, Grim Certainty
- Added/Updated the effect icons for all rite effects

# Bugfixes
- Fixed the book having a stuck state, I'm not sure how this was caused but now if you are "out of bounds" the book will snap back to it's default position
- Fixed certain items causing some other unrelated recipes to not appear in JEI whatsoever
- Fixed the Rune of Radial Empowerment/Rune of Farsweeping still being called Rune of Sacrificial Empowerment
- Fixed the Soulbinding Brazier model having incorrect face culling data
- Fixed Soulwood Saplings being replaceable
- Fixed Malignant Conversion being capped at 30 armor
- Fixed a glState leak for the Hidden Blade interface icon renderer
- Fixed the Weeping Well giving you the Encyclopedia Arcana in place of the Umbral Spirit
- Fixed the Weeping Well crashing when eating an enchanted item
- Fixed the Weeping Well hurting you while inside of it, as opposed to only when you're rejected
- Fixed some of the Weeping Well textures being incorrectly mirrored
- Fixed the Codex crashing your game when opened while any spirit repair recipe is missing
- Fixed Scythe & Staff Enchantments appearing as world loot
