Majestic Terrain (0.0.0-beta.4)
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
v0.0.0-beta.4 — Silverwood Grove actually generates
Beta.3 shipped a biome that never appeared in any singleplayer world. This build fixes it. If you installed beta.3 and looked for the grove, it was not there, and nothing in the log said why.
Fixed
- The injection now works in singleplayer. A new world is built on the client, long before the integrated server exists, and the climate table could not be read that early. Majestic Terrain now wraps the Overworld's biome source instead of rebuilding it, which needs nothing that is not ready yet.
- The biome's climate band was unreachable. It was a quarter-cell wide on four axes at once, and "full range" axes that were not actually full range. Measured against a real world: 0 hits out of 219,961 samples, twice. It now takes the whole vanilla forest cell, which is 795 hits, 0.36% — uncommon, and findable.
Technical Changes
/majestic_terrain probe— walks the real world with the real climate sampler and reports how often each band is hit, how near the closest one is, and the range the game actually produces on every axis. Climate bands cannot be checked any other way: a band can be valid, pass every test and still never be sampled.
Notes
- A world created with beta.3 stays broken. Its chunks were generated without the biome. Make a new one.
- The grove now occupies the vanilla forest cell outright, with no transitional ring. Where the grove starts, the forest stops.
- Still install before you generate. That advice did not age well here, and it is why this happened at all.
