🌊 Majestic Terrain
Six biomes for six peoples. Each one is the place they came out of the land.
⚠ Read This First: It Belongs In A New World
This mod does not add content to a world you already have. It changes the Overworld's own generator — its climate table and its relief — and that can only be true for chunks that were never generated before.
|
If you install this on a world you have already played, the border where the old terrain ends will be visible: a step, a cut, a wall of rock where there was none. That is not a bug we can patch. Minecraft stores the terrain it already made, and this mod changes the rules that make terrain. So: make a new world, or accept the seams. There is no third option, and we would rather say it here than let you find it at chunk 4,000. |
Install before you generate. |
🏘 Overview
The Majestic Bestiary has six peoples in it. They were always there. Nobody knew where any of them came from.
Majestic Terrain answers that, one people at a time. Every biome in this mod is an origin, not a reskin — the exact kind of ground a species came out of — and every one of them carries a construction left by the Order of Watchers, the same Order that cuts the rune masonry in Majestic Core.
The Order did not make these peoples. It found them, worked around them, and in one case ruined everything. You will find the evidence of that in the ground.
🦀 Six biomes, six constructions
| Biome | People | What the Order left there |
|---|---|---|
| Hornwood Hollow | Satyrs | The Antlered Ring — a buried disc of cut stone where the Order counted the herd |
| The Deepvein Delve | Gnomes | The Delve — galleries and a hoist cut into a canyon wall, still open |
| Silverwood Grove | Elves | The Silverwood Ring — a roofless platform older than the Order. No runes. Not theirs |
| The Scaled Rift | Draconids | The Binding Ring — a scorched ritual circle with one quarter missing, and the gap faces the rift |
| Tauren Plateau | Taurens | Roads End — a paved Order road that simply stops, at a post and a small altar |
| Centaur Fields | Centaurs | The Long Course — boundary markers in a straight line, measured at a run, never finished |
The biomes are added one at a time, and each lands only after it has been walked through in game. See the changelog for which ones are in the build you downloaded.
🌱 What You Actually Get
- Real biomes, not tinted plains. Each one has its own sky, fog, water and foliage colour, its own weather, its own carvers, its own plants and its own ground cover.
- Climate that was tuned. Temperature and rainfall are set per biome and written into the Overworld's climate table, so they land where they should instead of forming a blob on the equator.
- Structures that belong to the place. Each construction is a jigsaw assembly built out of the Order's own stone, and each is filtered to the biome it belongs to.
- The right creatures. Biome spawn tables point at the Majestic Bestiary, so a satyr comes out of the Hornwood and a draconid comes out of the Rift.
- Nothing bundled. Every dependency is a normal CurseForge dependency.
⚙ Per-Biome Config
Every biome has its own switch in majestic_terrain-common.toml, so you can take one out
of the world without taking the others out with it. There is also a master switch for the Overworld
injection and a separate one for the custom relief.
terrain.injectIntoOverworld = true # our climate table replaces vanilla's
terrain.customRelief = false # our relief replaces the Overworld's
terrain.silverwood_grove.enabled = true # ...and one switch per biome
customRelief ships false on purpose. Changing the Overworld's noise is
what produces the seams described at the top of this page, so it is yours to turn on, not ours to turn on
behind you.
📜 The Rule We Do Not Bend
Every structure in this mod is placed by an isolated spread from Expedition Core, which guarantees a minimum isolation between neighbours and keeps the Order's buildings out of each other.
It cannot keep them out of your other mods. If a stronghold, a village or an Ancient City ends up near one of ours, that is Minecraft's structure placement and not a lie we would tell you about. Every chest in our structures is walled off from the outside world, so nothing of ours can be looted through someone else's corridor.
📋 Requirements
| Minecraft | 1.21.1 |
| NeoForge | 21.1.249+ |
| Java | 21 |
| Side | Client and Server (required on both) |
| Requires | Expedition Core, Majestic Core |
| Optional | Majestic Bestiary — without it the biomes generate but stay empty |
Majestic Terrain does not require Majestic. It works on its own with its two libraries, and sits right next to it.
📊 What's Next
One biome per release, in this order: Silverwood Grove, then The Deepvein Delve, then Hornwood Hollow, then Tauren Plateau with its own high relief, then Centaur Fields, and finally The Scaled Rift, which is the hardest one and the best one.
Every biome is tested in game before the next one starts.
Early beta. The first build is the skeleton: the project, the mixin wiring and the documentation. No biome is in it yet. Read the changelog to see how many of the six you are actually getting.
