Maid Airways 0.3.3 Update Report
Upgrading from 0.2.0 to 0.3.3
This update focuses on smoother flight, clearer destinations, and safer navigation through difficult terrain, alongside new spyglass marking and Xaero map integration.
Flight and Pathfinding
- Added advance planning for upcoming route segments to reduce repeated stops during flight.
- Removed idle pauses between waypoints and the blanket speed reduction applied to detours.
- Improved collision checks around corners, low ceilings, and blocking entities.
- Added multi-resolution searches and backward exploration, allowing maids to leave dead ends before approaching the destination.
- Fixed cases where a stalled flight failed to trigger protection after approximately ten seconds.
Safe Landing
- Interrupted or cancelled flights now prioritize reachable, safe platforms.
- Passengers are no longer automatically dismounted over lava, hazardous blocks, or unsupported locations.
- When no safe platform is available, the broom hovers and periodically retries.
- Unsafe destinations now produce a clear message instead of silently treating a nearby location as the original destination.
Riding Experience
- Lowered the player’s rear seat, raised the maid’s front seat, and adjusted seat spacing and alignment.
- Corrected sideways broom orientation during flight.
- The broom follows its flight heading while the player remains free to look around.
Remote Spyglass Marking
- Carry a Flight Journal and press G while using a vanilla spyglass to record a remote landing point.
- Added a target outline, landing coordinates, and explanations for invalid targets.
- Only platform tops that satisfy safe landing requirements can be recorded.
- The server verifies the target again. If it differs from the preview, the player is asked to aim again.
- Successfully recorded coordinates are displayed in chat.
Xaero Map Integration
- Start flights from the fullscreen world map’s terrain context menu.
- Start flights from map waypoint context menus and the minimap waypoint list.
- Added a confirmation screen showing both the selected map coordinates and the actual landing coordinates.
- Nearby safe platforms can be checked in loaded terrain; unloaded destinations are clearly marked as awaiting verification.
- Map flights remain separate from the Flight Journal and never automatically copy map waypoints into it.
- Xaero mods are optional. Journal, spyglass, and maid flight features remain available without them.
Interface and Verification
- Fixed overlapping text shadows in the Flight Journal’s name field.
- Passed 16 in-game automated tests and 15 logic tests.
- Verified three client configurations: no Xaero mods, Minimap only, and Minimap with World Map.
Upgrade Notes
Requires Minecraft 1.20.1 / Forge and Touhou Little Maid 1.5.3. Close the game before replacing the old addon JAR. Multiplayer clients and servers must update together to 0.3.3. Existing journals and saved locations remain usable; previously inaccurate landing points should be recorded again.
Cave routes still require enough clearance for a two-passenger broom. Initial planning and changing obstacles may cause brief pauses. Precise marking of terrain available only through Distant Horizons or Voxy LOD rendering is not currently supported.
