The pitch

Equip a helmet. Take hits. Get stronger with every one.

The Wheel of Dharma records every damage source you survive — arrows, fire, magic, explosions, modded attacks — and builds resistance per type until you're fully adapted on that source. At max stage, you don't just survive. You strike back.

What makes this different

  • Legion Link — linked players and mobs share adaptation in real time. One adapts, the whole legion does.
  • Multi-key memory — adapting to swords doesn't reset your progress against fire. Every source tracks independently.
  • Counterstrike — the Wheel stores incoming damage and unleashes it back when you retaliate.
  • Enlightenment — put the Wheel on any living entity. Your iron golem now adapts too.

How it works

  1. Craft and equip the Wheel (helmet slot).
  2. Take damage → the Wheel records the source.
  3. Stage advances (0→5) per damage type.
  4. Stage 5 = full resistance on that source + automatic counter-attack.

Crafting: 8× Gold Blocks surrounding 1× Gold Ingot.

Forge 1.20.1 · Target release: 29 October 2026

Unofficial fan-made mod inspired by Jujutsu Kaisen.
Not affiliated with Gege Akutami, Shueisha, MAPPA, or any official rights holders.

Why this release

In 2.0.5, adaptation progress could desync when several systems counted the same fight at once — session hits, staged mob progress, and shared legion snapshots did not always agree under multi-hit pressure.
2.0.6 collapses that into one core map so stages, keys, and shared progress read from the same truth.

What's new in 2.0.6 (vs 2.0.5)

  • Unified adaptation core — One backbone owns hits, stages, and multipliers. Less double-counting; more predictable climbs mid-combo.
  • Stage-driven progression — Each damage key climbs on its own (0→5 by default). A sword hit does not advance your fire bar; fire does not erase sword progress.
  • Stable progress keys — Progress is stored per entity + adaptation key, so switching targets or damage types is meant to resume, not wipe, what you already learned.
  • Cleaner runtime path — Adaptation hooks and wheel flash/feedback ride a tighter subscriber/event path for more consistent in-fight feedback.
  • Legion Link (refined) — Wheel-bearers in range (~64 blocks) still share adaptation progress. One learns; linked allies and wheel-bearing mobs can advance with you.
  • MASTER stability pass — Load-oriented fixes for the upgraded classes on Forge 1.20.1 (including the ComponentReturnType work in this package).

What this means for you

  1. Equip the Eight-Handled Dharmachakra (helmet slot).
  2. Take damage → the Wheel records that source key.
  3. Repeat the same kind of threat → stage climbs for that key only (up to 5 stages by default).
  4. Stage 5 (max on that key) → strongest resistance; this line also supports counterstrike when adaptation is maxed on a source.
  5. Optional: put the Wheel on living entities (Enlightenment) and fight as a linked legion.

Crafting: 8× Gold Blocks surrounding 1× Gold Ingot.

Under the hood (for players who care)

Layer Role in 2.0.6
UnifiedAdaptationCore Central progress map for hits, stages, and multipliers
AdaptationCoreBridge Connects the core to session / wheel behavior
Classifiers Route damage into stable keys (e.g. melee_sword, projectile_arrow, modded_custom)
Legion stack Link network + shared snapshots + in-range distribution (~64 blocks)
Session / transfer Persist and move Wheel-related state with fewer fragile edge cases

Full immunity fantasy, staged climb, Legion share, and counterstrike path remain the same fantasy as 2.0.5 — the bookkeeping is what was rebuilt.

Breaking changes & migration

  • Prefer a fresh test world before touching important saves.
  • This line is still session-oriented: do not assume every adaptation survives every restart/server rule set.
  • If you move from 2.0.5 → 2.0.6, treat adaptation progress as possibly reset or incomplete after the core change — re-learn a few keys in a copy world first.
  • Keep only one Mahoraga JAR in the mods folder.

Known issues / WIP

  • Block-breaking adaptation (canAdaptToBlockBreaking) — still WIP; may desync under lag or unusual break pipelines. Leave off unless you are testing it on purpose.
  • Full wheel model/spin quality is best with GeckoLib installed (optional, recommended).
  • No other critical issues known in this package as of the 2.0.6 MASTER stability pass — in-game verification on your machine is still required before trusting a main world.

image

  • Minecraft 1.20.1, Forge 47+
  • GeckoLib (optional, recommended for full wheel model and animations)

Next up

Planned focus: block-breaking adaptation moving out of WIP, stronger cross-session / cross-dimension persistence goals, and extra damage keys for common modded combat sources.

2.0.5 vs 2.0.6 (one glance)

2.0.5 2.0.6
Focus Public Absolute + Legion package Unified core rebuild
Progress Strong, but split bookkeeping risk One map for hits / stages / keys
Stage cap Configurable Up to 5 stages per key (default 5)
Legion Shipped Kept + tied into the same core story
Pitch Three focused classifier upgrades Why the counters stopped fighting each other

⚠️ Adaptation tracking is session-based in this release line.
Back up your world. Test on a copy first — especially on multiplayer.

Live boss-fight test against The Exoframe from RPG Style More Bosses.

The Eight-Handled Dharmachakra equipped in the helmet slot the entire fight.

  • Adaptation builds with every hit taken
  • The Wheel stays on under real pressure
  • Fully works in custom boss arenas and alongside other mods

This is exactly what the public 2.0.5 Absolute Adaptation line is built for:

Survive → Learn → Push back stronger.
