Machine Doctor

Why did this machine stop?

Look at a Mekanism processing machine and press G. Machine Doctor shows a short diagnostic overlay with problems and clues, ordered by priority. The key can be changed in Minecraft's controls.

What it checks

• Missing energy and redstone control preventing operation.
• Empty item, fluid, or chemical inputs, where supported.
• Full item outputs and recipes blocked by insufficient output space.
• Full output tanks, invalid item recipes reported by Mekanism, and factory processing lanes.
• Item auto-eject disabled and missing input/output side settings as automation hints.

The overlay supports English and Brazilian Portuguese. It lasts eight seconds; press G again to refresh after changing a machine. Diagnostics do not modify the machine.

Requirements and installation

• Minecraft Java 1.21.1.
• NeoForge 21.1.251 or newer within the 21.1 series.
• Mekanism 10.7.19.85 or newer within the 10.7 series. That file identifies itself internally as 10.7.19.
• Place the Machine Doctor JAR in your mods folder and remove older Machine Doctor JARs.
• The same version is required on the client and server. Dedicated-server testing has not yet been confirmed for this beta.

Beta scope and known limitations

This first beta focuses on Mekanism processing machines and factories. It does not provide specialized diagnoses for generators, cables, pipes, multiblocks, Create, AE2, or Industrial Foregoing.

It does not reliably diagnose adjacent full chests, transport filters, or an output side with no destination inventory. Some recipe warnings need a processing tick to update. The overlay is a snapshot and does not replace the machine GUI or a recipe viewer.

In-game scenarios have been tested by Aicereste. Please report issues in the comments with the machine name, Minecraft/NeoForge/Mekanism versions, expected behavior, and a screenshot where possible. Remove personal information before sharing logs.

Development disclosure

The code, text, translations, and project icon were produced using generative AI, with in-game testing by Aicereste. The icon is illustrative and does not depict a new in-game block. The mod does not use generative AI at runtime.
