Maces Of The Apocalypse

Maces of the Apocalypse adds a bunch of new maces to Minecraft, each with its own abilities and charge system. Crafting the normal mace recipe gives you a random mace, and you can level it up by defeating mobs.

Maces of the Apocalypse

What if crafting a mace was only the beginning?

Maces of the Apocalypse replaces the normal mace result with one of 28 unique maces. Every mace earns charges from worthy kills, levels up permanently, and develops stronger abilities as you use it. Only one copy of each mace can exist, so the weapon you receive truly belongs to you.

All maces are unbreakable and soulbound. In Hardcore, or after losing your final life in the optional Semi-Hardcore mode, your mace disappears with you.

## Common and Uncommon Maces

### Common

  • **Slimemace:** Launches you backward and makes damaging falls bounce without destroying your forward momentum.
    - **Magnetmace:** Mark a target, then pull it toward you or push it away. It works through walls.
    - **Bonemace:** Summons loyal skeleton fighters. Higher levels improve both the swarm and its equipment.
    - **Groundmace:** Burrow into solid ground and travel underground for a short time.
    - **Earthmace:** Rips a chunk of ground upward. The chunk accelerates as it falls and can be struck toward enemies.
    - **Beemace:** Calls a loyal swarm that follows your attacks, growing larger and stronger with each level.
    - **Deathmace:** In Hardcore and Semi-Hardcore worlds it gains the powers of the dead.

### Uncommon

- **Assassinmace:** Loads arrows like a crossbow and can create Poison IV or wall-phasing ghost arrows. Holding it also grants stealth.
- **Ghostmace:** Lets you phase through the earth and fly underground. Its active ability briefly grants complete invisibility and immortality.
- **Overhealthmace:** Cuts your normal maximum health in half, but converts charges into armor-scaled overhealth up to three times your maximum.
- **Bunnymace:** Grants powerful ground-only hops, quieter footsteps, reduced fall damage, and safe travel over powdered snow.
- **Endermace:** Teleports you over short distances. Its range and restrictions improve as the mace levels.
- **Riptidemace:** Charges and launches you like a Riptide trident. Sneak-right-clicking spends charges to summon rain.

## Rare and Epic Maces

### Rare

- **Rootmace:** Mark a grounded enemy and Root it in place, preventing movement and jumping.
- **Flashbackmace:** Summons ghostly copies that repeat your movement and attacks after a delay.
- **Firemace:** Fires damaging fire charges, with a shorter delay between shots at higher levels.
- **Frostbitemace:** Freezes nearby enemies, slowing them, increasing their gravity, and repeatedly dealing damage.
- **Puppetmace:** Transfers your control into a wooden puppet with extra health and shared storage. Losing it comes with serious consequences.

### Epic

- **Beaconmace:** Fires a blue laser or grants a random selection of fully powered beacon effects.
- **Executionermace:** Builds sharpens that increase smash damage for every block fallen. Sharpens fade over time and are consumed by a smash.
- **Lifelinkmace:** Links your life to marked enemies. A linked enemy can die in your place, but its ordinary death harms you.
- **Stonesoulmace:** Slowly turns your hearts to stone for protection at the cost of speed. Break them into shrapnel or crack them for a risky invulnerable burst.

## Legendary and Beyond

### Legendary

- **Whirlwindmace:** Launches you forward or upward, damages nearby enemies, increases mobility, lightens gravity, and makes falls safer.
- **TNTmace:** Stores up to four aimed explosions. A smash after falling at least ten blocks creates an end-crystal-strength blast, while the wielder ignores explosion damage.
- **Steampunkmace:** Grants extra health and powerful physical effects but blocks natural healing. Repair yourself with hunger or charges and activate Overdrive for a temporary surge.

### Mythical

- **Hellfiremace:** Marks a victim and sends a living trail of hellfire after it. Hellfire burns through terrain, water, dropped items, armor, and fire resistance.
- **Clockworkmace:** Records where a marked target was struck, then snaps it back to that exact point with severe slowing effects and a powerful damage combo.

### Omnipotent

- **Wispmace:** Summons loyal wisps that follow your attacks and evolve into stronger forms. Its final level adds charge-powered smash damage.

## Crafting and Progression

Craft the normal Minecraft mace recipe to receive a random craftable mace. Higher rarities are harder to roll, and the first player to craft a mace receives a one-time rarity boost. Once the result is chosen, removing and replacing recipe ingredients cannot reroll it.

Kills against creatures with at least 20 maximum health grant charges. Lifetime charges unlock permanent mace levels, so a mace never drops back to an earlier level. Current charges power its abilities.

The **Apocalypsemace** and **Omnimace** are intentionally excluded from random crafting and remain creative-only items.

## Semi-Hardcore

The optional Semi-Hardcore difficulty uses Hard rules while giving every player three lives. Cheats can still be enabled. Losing the final life turns the player into a spectator and permanently destroys their soulbound mace.

Built for **Minecraft 1.21.11 Fabric**.
