LunaOverhaul-0.8.0.0-neoforge-1.21.11.jar
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
Regions and landing sites on the Moon and Mars, a space suit, more modded ore and more falling stars.
Regions. The Moon and Mars each have three regions now, a few kilometres across, each with its own ground and more of certain ores:
- Lunar Highlands (pale regolith, boulder fields): gold, lapis and moonstone
- Lunar Mare (dark regolith over basalt, low domes, craters with bright rays): iron, copper and olivine
- Impact Basin (breccia, more craters, the big ones with central peaks): diamond, emerald and redstone
- Red Plains: quartz and glowstone
- Hematite Plains (grey-violet ground): gold and garnet
- Volcanic Province (basalt and dark dunes): ancient debris
The boulders, domes, rays and peaks don't add any ore or craters; they make the Moon's regions easy to tell apart, the way Mars' colours already do.
Landing sites. Every cycle there's a landing site in each region. The transit beacon has a button for each one, and hovering over it shows what that region is rich in. When you arrive, the region's name comes up on screen. Once you're on the Moon or Mars, the button for the site you landed at turns into Return home, and the other two take you straight to the body's other regions.
Space suit. Upgrade netherite armour at a smithing table with a Space Suit Upgrade template and a block of meteoric iron. The template takes diamonds, starweave, moonstone, olivine, Martian garnet and meteoric iron. The suit protects like netherite, and each piece adds 7.5% mining speed, half a block of reach and a 5% chance of an extra drop from ore. The full suit gives +30% mining speed, +2 blocks of reach and +20% ore, anywhere. It takes every enchantment netherite armour takes, modded ones included, but armour trims don't go on it. There's an advancement for getting all four pieces.
Field Guide. The parachute page is replaced by two pages on the regions of the Moon and of Mars. The parachute is on the Accessories page now, and there's a new last page on the space suit. 12 pages, with new drawings.
Transit beacons. Both beacons have new sprites, and the beacon screen shows yours next to its title. The Moon's card says "The Moon" with a capital, and the bottom of the screen says you can hover over a site to see its ores.
New sprites for meteoric iron (ingot, nugget and raw), the space ration and moonstone, closer to how vanilla draws ingots, nuggets, raw ore and gems. The ration is a foil meal pouch now.
More ore and more falling stars
- Ores from other mods are now placed 6 times as often on the Moon and Mars (was 5). The setting is now called moddedOreMultiplier; an existing config picks up the new value by itself.
- Shooting stars are about 40% more common on an ordinary clear night (20% in showers), and slightly more meteorites land (0.65 a night on average, was 0.5).
Commands. Fewer of them: /Luna, /Luna locate, /Luna worldgen and /Luna perf for everyone, and /Luna sites, /Luna server and /Luna wipe for operators. /Luna status, /Luna perfserver, /Luna reset and /Luna config are gone (sites, server and wipe replace them).
Other changes
- Going home from the beacon now waits for home to load first, and a catastrophe starts loading everyone's home a few seconds early. In big packs this was causing a freeze of several seconds when you got back.
- New block: mare regolith. Hematite regolith is now grey-violet instead of red.
- The Field Guide's "Getting there" page explains landing sites.
- The performance option that draws a dropped stack as fewer copies now works (before, it only did anything on 1.20.1). A stack on the ground is drawn as one item by default; set renderAmountCap to 5 in luna-performance-client.toml for the old look.
- Luna's world generation messages in the log are no longer printed three times.
- Fixed an "Unprimed heightmap" error when a landing pad was built.
- Fixed an error in the leaf trimming performance option with some leaf models.
Old worlds work: the Moon and Mars get their three sites the next time the world loads.
Other Minecraft versions. 0.8.0.0 is out for every version Luna supports, each its own file: NeoForge for 1.21 to 1.21.11 and 26.1.2, Forge for 1.20.1. Curios is optional, and so is Relics on 1.21 and 1.21.1.
- 1.21.11 and 26.1.2: the Sun on the Moon and Mars is no longer a missing texture.
- 1.21.10, 1.21.11 and 26.1.2: the block entity distance option works (it did nothing before).
- 1.21.3: Curios has no build for it, so the accessories can't be worn in slots. The parachute still works from your hand.
- 1.20.1: the Moon has no medium diamond veins, which that version doesn't have.
This mod has no additional files
