Why a separate add-on and not included within the mod itself?
Crafting may be slightly broken from a survival-friendly experience. Additionally, because it's based on a datapack, crafting can't be modular within the original datapack/mod.
Furthermore, the creator's original plans were to make a special crafting table for weapons, which development has been delayed over time and could not be included in the original project.
