What's new

LucsemporiumRPG v2.5.5

Exploit-fix and correctness release. Recommended for every server.

Exploit fixes

Skill reset no longer creates free points

A reset refunded every spent point but only removed 5 levels. Re-earning those levels paid out their points a second time, so each reset cycle created 50 extra points. Resets now remove the 50 points the lost levels granted, and refund everything else. Points granted by admins are kept.

Glide reworked: smooth, level and full speed

Glide now floats perfectly level at the speed you were running before the jump. It no longer slows you down or shakes up and down. Steer with WASD; hold back to brake. On dedicated servers, gliding no longer risks the "Flying is not enabled" kick.

Glide is once per jump

When a glide ran out (or you released and re-pressed SPACE), a new one started immediately, giving endless hovering. Glide now recharges only when you land (ground, water or a mount). Glide state is also cleared on logout, respawn and dimension change, which fixes a rare teleport-to-old-height bug after relogging mid-glide.

XP farming closed

  • Blocks you placed yourself give no break XP (silk-touched ore re-placed, log place/break, etc.).
  • Breaking the same spot again within 5 minutes gives no XP, which stops cobblestone and stone generators. Crops are exempt, so farms work as before.
  • Silk Touch gives no ore XP, matching vanilla.
  • Breaks cancelled by claim or protection mods no longer give XP.
  • Storage crafting (nuggets ↔ ingot ↔ block, Farmer's Delight crates) gives no XP, which closes craft-uncraft loops.
  • Machines and fake players (Create drills, Mekanism miners, mob crushers, auto-crafters) no longer earn RPG XP or spawn RPG orbs.

Arrow Recovery duplication fixed

Tapping a bow without drawing it fired nothing but could still return an arrow. Recovery now needs a real shot, does nothing with Infinity, and gives back the arrow type you fired (tipped and spectral arrows included).

Balance change: max 2 points per skill per level

The old "2 per apply" limit could be bypassed by clicking Apply again. It's replaced by a real, server-enforced rule: a skill can hold at most 2 × your level (level 10 → 20 points max in any one skill). The + button shows when a skill is level-locked. Existing allocations above the limit are kept; you just can't add more until you level up.

Level cap is now 100

The cap is now 100 levels and 1,000 points, as documented (it was 200 in code). Players already above level 100 keep their level.

Fixed skills

  • Hunger: now works. -1% hunger drain per point (all sources).
  • Sprint Efficiency: was far stronger than listed (free sprinting at 28 points, and it also wiped hunger from mining and fighting). Now exactly -1% hunger drain per point while sprinting. Stacks multiplicatively with Hunger.
  • Swim Speed: did nothing in practice (server-side velocity changes are overwritten by the client). Now uses Forge's swim speed attribute: +1% per point.
  • Night Vision: no longer flickers between refreshes.

Other fixes

  • RPG orbs now render with their own textures. Clients never received the orb tag, so RPG orbs looked like vanilla green orbs.
  • Merged RPG orbs give their full XP. A stack of merged orbs used to pay out only once.
  • The level-up banner plays again when you re-earn levels after a reset.
  • Thorns damage no longer triggers your own crit, lifesteal or melee bonus.
  • Fishing: bowls counted as treasure. Treasure and junk are now detected by exact item.

New: Night Vision toggle

Press N (rebindable in Controls → LucRPG) to switch the Night Vision skill off or on. Your choice is saved, so it stays off after relogging or dying. Turning it off only removes the skill's effect; a Night Vision potion keeps working.

New: admin commands (permission level 2)

  • /lrpg grantxp <player> <amount>
  • /lrpg grantpoints <player> <amount>

Requirements

  • Minecraft 1.20.1
  • Forge 47.2.20+
  • Java 17+
  • Server and clients should both update to 2.5.5.
