Lovely Valentine adds Valentine, a shy, obsessive, part-enderman creature who lives in the pink cherry groves and has decided you’re his favorite person. Win him over and he becomes your devoted guardian. Ignore him, hurt him, or call him creepy, and he becomes something much worse.

Meet Valentine

Valentine has a mood from 0 to 100 that changes how he acts toward you:

Deranged (0-19): screams, stalks you, appears behind you, and attacks nearby farm animals.
Uneasy (20-39): cold, distant, and watching.
Curious (40-59): getting used to you.
Fond (60-79): purrs, follows you
Devoted (80-100): clingy and protective. He kills creepers near you, helps when you’re starving, and defends you from anything that hurts you.

Click him with an empty hand to check his mood.

How to make him like you

He loves pink petals, apples, sweet berries, glow berries and golden apples. Hand him a gift and he’ll purr. A golden apple really moves him. Spam gifts and he’ll turn you down, so don’t overdo it.

He also loves attention and cats. Spend time near him, say his name, and look him in the eyes once he trusts you. Time spent together is the only way to take him all the way to Devoted.

Be careful. Hitting him lowers his mood. Don’t stare into his eyes if he doesn’t like you yet.

Talk to him

Valentine reads the chat. Say his name, and if he likes you enough, say “come here” and he’ll appear next to you. Chat to him and he answers after a short pause, in a way that depends on his mood: greetings, “I love you”, compliments, apologies, “are you hungry?”, “I’m scared” and many more.

He doesn’t just talk. Say “hug” and a fond Valentine walks over and surrounds himself with hearts. Say “stay with me” and he stays close. Say “help” when you’re hurt and he’ll heal you.

Things you might notice
- He copies what you do, a few seconds late, and sometimes gets it wrong.
- He dodges arrows like an enderman.
- He may leave signs for you to find.
- He might leave food if you’re starving and he adores you.
- He hates zombies at any mood.
- Tamed wolves growl at him until he’s truly devoted.
Cherry Grove extras
- Cherry compass: craft one to find cherry groves.
- Pink frogs hop around the cherry biomes.
- A pink, blossom-filled atmosphere over the groves.
- A starter guide book tells new players how to begin.
