Living Horizons 1.8.0 (Forge)
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
Light & shadow
- Sun shading: walls and slopes turned away from the sun fall into cool blue shade, sunlit faces warm up. At sunrise and sunset the snow turns lavender and distant mountains glow pink in the haze.
- Contact shadows: soft shadows where blocks, plants and mobs meet, under eaves and snow ledges, along wall bases, around grass and trunks.
- Light shafts: beams of sunlight stream past trees, hills and cloud edges when you look towards the sun.
- Cave mouths glow with the daylight beyond them.
- All of this runs as one depth-aware pass before the held item is drawn, so your hand is never shaded like the scene behind it. It turns itself off when an Iris shader pack is active.
Weather
- Snowstorms: snowfall in cold biomes becomes a whiteout, with the distance, the sky and the clouds swallowed by blowing snow. Between storms, cold air stays milky but keeps a golden horizon at sunrise and sunset.
- Dust storms: now and then by day a tan haze rolls over deserts and badlands, with more blowing sand, tumbleweeds and dust devils.
- Storms come and go on their own every few minutes and look the same for every player.
New options
- Sun Shading, Contact Shadows, Shadow Strength and Light Shafts, on a new "Light & Shadow" section of the Light & Sky page.
