Lives Pool

A cooperative hardcore mod where all players share one pool of lives, every death costs a life, and when the pool hits zero, it's game over for everyone.

Description

Instead of each death being permanent, all players share a pool of lives. Every death costs one life from the pool. When the pool reaches zero, the game is over for everyone — all players are moved to spectator mode. As long as lives remain, players respawn normally.

Works in LAN parties (including via the Essential mod) and on dedicated servers. The first player to join an unconfigured world gets a setup pop-up to choose the starting life count. On dedicated servers, that first player must be OP — on LAN/singleplayer, anyone can trigger it.

Commands included (/livespool or /lp as alias)

  • /lp -> Shows current lives remaining
  • /lp add <n> -> Adds n lives to the pool (use negative to subtract). Broadcasts to all players.
  • /lp setup -> Re-opens the setup screen if the world hasn't been configured yet.

There's also a config file, `livespool-server.toml`, where you can toggle the mod on or off entirely, set the default starting life count, and enable/disable showing players' hearts in the tab list.
