Description
To obtain nautilus shells, use shear on the shell of a hermit-crab!
Hermit crabs have a 1 in 5 chance every few ticks (when standing on sand,) to find a new shell, making them a re-newable source of nautilus shells!
(They also drop them when slain, but I don't recommend hurting them!)
