Legacy Waypoints
I've always liked the idea of waypoints and minimaps in Minecraft, but i found most existing mods either clutterd my screen or broke the vanilla aesthetic. So i decided to build my own.
Legacy Waypoints is a sleek, lightweight mod that feels like it belongs to the base game. It features a smooth 3D HUD, a rotating minimap, and a fully functional world map.
(This is currently in Beta. Everything works perfectly in my testing, but if you find any bugs, please let me know in the comments!)
Features
Vanilla look: Waypoints are drawn using the actual advancement frames. You can pick any block/item in the game, or just a custom colored letter.
The Seed Ghost Map (My favorite feature): Go to settings and enable "Seed Ghost Map". The mod will generate a Chunkbase-style biome map of the world around you in the background. You can see oceans, deserts, and forests far beyond your render distance!
Smart Death Markers: When you die, a red skull waypoint is created. it stays on top of all your other waypoints so you never lose your items. The moment you get within 3 blocks of it, it automatically dissapears.
Clean Minimap: A vanilla map in the corner of your screen. it rotates with your camera, and overlapping waypoints smartly cluster together so you can actually see them.
Fully Customizable: Want to turn off the minimap? Change the waypoint size? Make the text background transparent? Everything can be tweaked in the settings menu.
