ClearLag 2.0
A major expansion of ClearLag, adding full mob cleanup, spawn control, live JSON configuration, and new admin tools.
Added
- Added scheduled mob cleanup alongside dropped-item cleanup.
- Added configurable cleanup rules for hostile, passive, ambient, water, and specific modded mobs.
- Added preservation options for named, tamed, persistent, and boss mobs.
- Added configurable chat warnings before mob cleanup.
- Added configurable cleanup completion messages showing how many mobs were removed.

- When the tool is disabled, ClearLag can remain server-side only without requiring clients to install the mod.
Configuration
- ClearLag now uses JSON configuration files for cleanup and spawn-control settings.
- Existing ClearLag configuration is migrated automatically when upgrading.
- Existing settings are preserved during migration.
- Original configuration files are backed up before migration.
- Added configuration schema versioning for safer future upgrades.
- Invalid JSON will no longer replace the last valid runtime configuration.
- Unknown or invalid entity entries are reported without breaking the rest of the configuration.
Spawn Control
- Administrators can blacklist individual mob types from spawning.
- Supports vanilla and modded registered entities.
- Spawn rules update live without restarting the server.
- Existing mobs are not automatically removed when their type is blocked from future spawning.
- Mob cleanup and spawn prevention remain independently configurable.
Server Administration
- Added new
/clearlagcommands for entity cleanup, configuration reloads, and spawn-control management. - Mob cleanup and spawn-control actions report useful results back to administrators.
- Cleanup warnings and messages can be customized directly from JSON.
