What's new
Last Breath v0.2.0
New Features
- Server-side configuration file — server owners can now tune the mod's timers without recompiling anything, via `config/last_breath-common.toml`:
- `downedDurationSeconds` — how long a player stays downed before dying for real (default: 45)
- `medkitDurationSeconds` — how long a Medkit takes to self-revive (default: 15)
- `teammateReviveDurationSeconds` — how long a teammate revive takes (default: 8)
- `teammateReviveMaxDistance` — max distance a reviver can be before the revive cancels (default: 4 blocks)
- `medkitCooldownSeconds` — cooldown before a player can use another Medkit after self-reviving (default: 30, set to 0 to disable)
- Medkit cooldown system — prevents chain-spamming self-revives with Medkits. Does **not** affect teammate revives — you can still be revived by another player while your own Medkit is on cooldown.
- `/lastbreath locategrave <player>` command (OP only) — returns the coordinates and dimension of a player's active grave.
- Grave locations now persist across server restarts — previously, grave positions tracked for the locate command were lost on world reload; they're now saved to disk.
- Widened NeoForge compatibility range — the mod now accepts any NeoForge build within the 1.21.1 line (21.1.x), instead of being locked to one exact build number. This means you no longer need the *exact* NeoForge version the mod was built against — any 1.21.1-compatible NeoForge release will work.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed dying in Creative mode incorrectly triggering the downed state; players in Creative now die normally and still drop a grave if they were carrying items.
- Fixed the Respawn button becoming unresponsive when a downed player was finished off by another player (PvP) rather than by the bleed-out timer or self-finish key.
- Fixed graves in the Nether/End void spawning far from the death location (sometimes at world spawn); graves now search outward from the actual death position for the nearest solid ground before falling back to spawn.
- Fixed downed players' health incorrectly regenerating when repeatedly hit by another player at intervals matching the bleed-out tick sync, effectively making PvP finishers unreliable.
- Fixed the Medkit cooldown message overlapping and visually conflicting with the bleed-out/revive HUD text; it now displays in a separate position and fades out automatically after 2 seconds.
- Fixed a bug where releasing the Medkit early (e.g. via the drop/swap key) while still channeling could permanently freeze the bleed-out timer, leaving the player unkillable until using another Medkit.
*As always, both client and server need the same mod version installed — Last Breath adds shared world content (items, blocks, network sync) and isn't a client-only mod. Note: this widened compatibility is specific to NeoForge builds within Minecraft 1.21.1 — it does not add support for other Minecraft versions.*
