Large Simple Ships brings block-built sailing vessels to Minecraft—ships that are physical places to board, command, fight from, repair, and recover.

Craft a Sloop, Brig, or Galleon and place it on open water. Each ship begins anchored, with a helm, cargo storage, cannons, repair access, and shipboard maps. Raise sails in stages to depart; lower them to anchor and refresh the maps at your new location.

Note: All ships are named with a "Rove" prefix. For example, "Rove Sloop", "Rove Cannonball".

Features:

  • Three distinct ships: Sloop (for speed), Brig (for versatility), and Galleon (for when you need a mobile base).
  • Shared cargo accessible from the ship’s onboard storage, all chests on the ship are linked to the same inventory while the ship is not sunk.
  • Crewed cannon stations and helm-controlled broadsides, a player may crew a single cannon, or the helm may fire an entire broadside.
  • Repair barrels for hull damage, ships only take damage from direct explosions on or next to their hull, making the most effective way of damaging them either being another ship, or some sneaky TNT placement. Repair barrels are next to the helm on all ships to repair hull HP.
  • Anchored, block-built hulls with boarding ladders and interactable ship details, the ships themselves are almost entirely made of vanilla assets, the only exceptions being the helm, sails, and cannons. When anchored, the ship is completely traversible as if the blocks were normal vanilla blocks, when underway, the ship becomes a vehicle entity, and any player that is not at either the helm or a cannon station will phase through the hull, so make sure you are seated before moving.
  • A deliberate scuttle system that returns the ship’s crafting materials and any player placed blocks (and their storage) to onboard wreck storage after it settles, just in case your ship gets stuck or another mod breaks something on your ship, the scuttle system allows you to effectively recycle the ship. The original crafting materials and player placed blocks are found in the resulting wrecks chests once it fully sinks.
  • Limited player customization: Each ship has designated sockets for cells on the ship that accept player placed blocks/items. To find them, right click any of the integrated maps and particles will appear at valid locations for blocks placeable by players. These can be almost anything, with the notable exceptions being multiblock constructions, fluids, and blocks that take up more than one cell of space (a bed for example). These cells are partially compatible with modded blocks and workstations (tested iron furnaces with their directional input/output settings as well as pipez item transfer pipes). Player placed blocks that work over time (such as furnaces) continue to work during transit.
  • Waystone integration: The bells on every ship act as waystones which are reapplied for every player who is on board the ship when it comes to a stop (you should only need to activate the bell waystone once, after that, it will update its location whenever the ship moves assuming you were on board). See keybinds for use.
  • Bed respawn point reconciliation: The integrated beds will update the players respawn location when the ship comes to a stop if their respawn location was previously set to that bed. No need to reset your respawn location every time you move your ship.

Default Keybinds:

  • Helm
    • Space: Fire Cannons
    • V: Toggle Targeting Overlay
    • G: Toggle Broadside Direction
    • WASD: Speed/Direction/Anchor
    • O: Scuttle Ship
    • Up/Down Arrow Keys: Adjust Cannon Elevation
  • Systems:
    • Right Click on Integrated Maps: Show player customization cells for 30 seconds
    • Shift-Right Click Helm: Perform non-destructive ship blockstate check, useful if your ship is missing blocks for some reason, primarily a debug tool
    • Shift-Right Click Repair Barrel with 64 logs in inventory: Repair 1 point of hull health
    • Shift-Right Click Integrated Bells: Activate/Open Waystone Menu (if waystones is installed).
