- There were two Kais. One was standing out in a field before you had said a word to
  anybody, and saying his name then put a second one in front of you while the first
  stayed where it was.

  The one in the field was not him. The mod puts something out at a distance that only
  looks like him, and one of its three shapes wears his own model and his own texture, so
  at that range there is nothing to tell them apart. It knew to keep away while he was
  about, but nothing moved it once he turned up beside it - and the shape that does not
  dissolve when you look at it just stands there for five minutes.
