Kotlin for Nothing
Kotlin for Forge, but with current Kotlin on Minecraft 1.20.1. Swap the jar and your mods keep working.
Kotlin for Forge stopped updating 1.20.1 at version 4.12.0, which ships Kotlin 2.2.21. Plenty of packs still run 1.20.1, so I forked that release and keep it on the latest Kotlin. It is one jar, and it needs no other mods.
What's in the jar
- Kotlin 2.4.21, coroutines 1.11.0 and kotlinx.serialization 1.11.0
- The
kotlinforforgeloader, API and mod ID from Kotlin for Forge 4.12.0, so mods built for it load unchanged - No Preloading Tricks or other helper mods
Installing
- Remove Kotlin for Forge from your mods folder.
- Add the Kotlin for Nothing jar.
Mods that depend on Kotlin for Forge now load from this jar.
Do not install both mods. They fill the same slot. The game crashes before the loading screen and logs Found duplicate mods for kotlinforforge.
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.20.1
- Forge 47 (tested on 47.4.20)
- Java 17
Tested mods
Bountiful, Kambrik and Cynosure all load on a Forge 1.20.1 server with Kotlin for Nothing as the only Kotlin provider.
For mod developers
The Maven coordinate is dev.akoto:kotlin4nothing, from the registry at https://git.akoto.dev/api/packages/akoto090/maven. The README covers setup and migration from Kotlin for Forge.
