About

KMD is a fast travel mod inspired by the risk, reward, and travel atmosphere of Kingdom Come: Deliverance.

Instead of making fast travel feel like a simple teleport, KMD adds travel posts, discovery, map-based travel, and random events that can interrupt your journey.

This mod is still in its early stages, with more content planned over time.

⚠️How to use

KMD is designed as a standalone mod for medieval, fantasy, adventure, and stylized Minecraft worlds.

Place down a travel post and right-click it to discover it. Then place and discover another travel post to unlock fast travel between them.

Shared travel posts are special travel posts that can be visible to everyone without each player needing to discover them first.

Shared travel posts require more expensive materials and are intended for important public travel locations.

Hostile land: Bandit Ambush, Night Attack, Forest Ambush, Swamp Trouble, Desert Raiders, Roadblock, Illager Patrol, Cave Robbers, Wolf Pack
Passive land: Lost Traveler, Roadside Merchant, Campfire Travelers, Herbalist, Broken Cart
Hostile sea: Sea Pirates, Drowned Raid
Passive sea: Shipwrecked Sailor, Floating Merchant, Message in a Bottle

Encounters %

By default all encounters are based on time of day (Night time travel higher chance for encounter)
Distance (More distance higher chance for encounters)
Armor level (Lowers both encounter chance but also increases chance to avoid or sneak away from encounters)
Food Level (More hungry , more encounter chance)

All of the above can be configured via the ingame commands or the config

Commands

/kmdtravel events [true|false] — shows or toggles travel events.
/kmdtravel eventwait [5-600] — shows or changes passive-event wait time in seconds.
/kmdtravel basechance <0-1> — base chance for any travel event.
/kmdtravel nightmultiplier <0-10> — event chance multiplier at night.
/kmdtravel armor perpoint <0-0.1> — event chance reduction per armor/toughness point.
/kmdtravel armor maxreduction <0-0.95> — max armor protection cap.
/kmdtravel hunger low <0-1> — added event chance when hunger is very low.
/kmdtravel hunger medium <0-1> — added event chance when hunger is medium.
/kmdtravel distancechance <0-1> — added event chance per 1000 blocks.
/kmdtravel maxchance <0-1> — final maximum event chance cap.
/kmdtravel sharedpostcrafting [true|false] — shows or toggles shared post crafting.

MISC

Shift right clicking on a travel post allows you to rename it
Right clicking a travel post with a dye allows you to change the color of the sign
Right clicking the travel post with a banner will change the map pin to the corresponding color/design.
