Become a kitsune, a magical fox spirit, and grow from one tail to twenty in a cozy world full of friendly yokai, helpful protectors and gentle monsters. It's made to be fun for young players: no jump-scares, no gore, soft sounds, and enemies that always warn you before they attack.
Become a kitsune
- The first time you join, you turn into a small, quick fox with ears and a tail. You can climb walls, see in the dark and dig fast with your paws.
- Pick one of nine kitsune types: Normal, Fire, Water, Electric, Ice, Grass, Dark, Psychic or Fairy. Each has its own bolt, breath or special move, and its own colours.
- Gather Spirit Essence by hunting to grow more tails. Every tail gives you more hearts and stronger powers, and new tails unlock a dash, flight and more, all the way up to twenty.
A world full of spirits
- More than 50 new creatures from Japanese folklore: tanuki, kappa, tree spirits, paper lanterns, dancing two-tailed cats, river dragons and many more.
- Five kinds of kitsune towns (village, snow, ember, desert and seaside), joined by roads with signposts that point to the next town.
- Protectors turn up on their own to keep you safe: Haniwa figures that throw clay balls at monsters, Kirin that bump them away, Inari Foxes that warn you and heal you, and more. No crafting needed.
Gentle monsters
Every enemy has a friendly face, soft sounds and a goofy "hup!" wind-up before any big move, so you always have a moment to step aside. Nothing sneaks up on you or pops up right in front of you.
The Path of the Kitsune
- Four trials guard arenas around the world: the Corrupted Boar (3 tails), the Shadow Alpha (8), the Oni Warlord (13) and the Void Serpent (18). Each one gives a Spirit Badge, and a Spirit Compass points the way to the next.
- Then craft a Spirit Star and call the twenty-tailed Celestial Kitsune at the End's exit portal for the final battle.
- Watch the horizon: the Primal Daidarabotchi, an elemental giant 72 blocks tall, sometimes roams the plains and mountains.
Cozy sounds and music
Over 700 original creature sounds, all soft and cartoony, and an original title-screen song, "Moonlit Lake". Every tune is in a happy major key.
