# KineticCore 26.9.22
This is a major core update. Compared with 26.9.12, this version not only fixes and improves existing features, but also includes a large-scale redesign of KineticCore's public API, GUI framework, configuration system, networking layer, event system, and internal architecture, together with a brand-new Superman Flight system.
## New Superman Flight System
A new attribute-driven Superman Flight system has been added.
- Added Superman Flight Speed and Flight Turn Damping attributes.
- Double-tap Space to enable or disable Superman Flight.
- When Superman Flight is available, the double-tap Space action takes priority over vanilla Creative Flight.
- W / S control forward and backward flight.
- A / D control flight roll rotation.
- Hold Shift for smooth acceleration.
- Ctrl + W instantly accelerates to the current target maximum speed.
- Shift + Mouse Wheel adjusts the target maximum speed, supporting speeds up to 100x.
- The last selected target speed is remembered automatically.
- Alt enables an independent free-look camera.
- The camera smoothly returns after leaving free-look mode.
- Uses a real horizontal flight pose.
- Player roll rotation is synchronized so other players can see it.
- Added dynamic FOV based on actual movement speed.
- FOV expansion and recovery are both smoothly interpolated.
- Added configurable turn damping to control high-speed steering response.
- Flight state recovery and cleanup have been improved for respawning, dimension changes, and rejoining a world.
## Player Pose and Crawling Rework
A unified player pose API has been introduced.
Active crawling and horizontal Superman Flight now share the same player size and pose refresh logic, reducing conflicts when multiple systems need to modify the player's collision dimensions.
Superman Flight has higher priority than crawling. Entering flight releases the crawling state, and crawling can only take control again after flight ends.
Temporary pose cleanup has also been improved for respawning, changing dimensions, and reconnecting, reducing the chance of incorrect collision box states remaining active.
## Major Kinetic GUI API Upgrade
The public GUI API has been significantly expanded and standardized.
Kinetic API now provides unified support for:
- 640x360 responsive virtual canvas with high-resolution scaling.
- Standard buttons, compact buttons, and high-level buttons.
- Toggle controls, sliders, dropdowns, and tabs.
- Single-line and multi-line text fields.
- Integer / Long / Double numeric input fields.
- Text and numeric auto-completion.
- Multiple smooth scrolling list types and item grids.
- RGB / HEX color controls.
- Tooltips and item tooltips.
- Context menus and confirmation dialogs.
- Placeholders.
- Focus management.
- UI scissoring.
- Mouse coordinate conversion.
- UI rebuild and back-navigation helpers.
- Unified widget factories for non-Screen panels, editors, and helper classes.
Addon mods can now reuse these systems directly instead of maintaining separate implementations for the same GUI functionality.
## New Mouse Wheel Scroll Speed Setting
Added a global Kinetic UI mouse wheel scroll amount setting.
The default value scrolls by 1 logical unit per wheel step, while decimal values and smooth scrolling are also supported.
This provides more flexible control for long lists, item lists, and configuration pages.
## Configuration System Rework
The Kinetic configuration API has been reorganized into a formal public API.
It now supports client-side, local installation, common, and server-authoritative configuration scopes with unified support for:
Boolean, Integer, Long, Double, String, Long Text, Choice, translated Choice, String List, Integer List, Entity List, Item List, Item Rule List, Tick / Seconds, RGB / HEX Color, and custom Validators.
Numeric range limits and whether negative values are allowed are now defined by each addon or feature instead of being assumed by the API.
Server configuration synchronization, saving, and permission boundaries have also been standardized.
## Startup Feature Toggle Rework
The old internal Mixin toggles have been redesigned as stable startup feature toggles.
Feature toggles no longer expose internal Mixin class names to players. They now use stable feature IDs and are grouped into categories such as movement, world, entities, vanilla systems, monitoring, performance, client, and networking.
Each toggle now has its own localized name and description.
This allows internal implementations to be refactored in the future without unnecessarily breaking player configuration files.
## Networking API Rework
A complete Kinetic networking abstraction has been added.
Addon mods can now register and send client/server packets through the unified API instead of directly handling Forge SimpleChannel, FriendlyByteBuf, PacketDistributor, and related lower-level networking details.
New networking improvements include:
- Protocol version management.
- Safe size limits for strings, byte arrays, and lists.
- Packet payload size restrictions.
- Bounded compression and decompression.
- Large integer precision protection for synchronized server configuration values.
- Serverbound and Clientbound senders.
- General-purpose NetworkCodec and NetworkBuffer APIs.
## Public Event API
A unified public event API has been added for client, server, player, entity, world, resource, and loot events.
Common lifecycle events are now available through Kinetic API, including:
- Client tick and server tick.
- Player tick.
- Player login and logout.
- Player clone, respawn, and dimension change.
- Datapack synchronization.
- Chat events.
- Screen and HUD events.
- Mouse events.
- World rendering events.
- Chunk and world events.
- Entity events.
- Block events.
- Living attack, hurt, damage, and death events.
Addon mods no longer need to maintain separate Forge event bridges for many common use cases.
## Registry and Runtime API Expansion
Added or improved public APIs for:
Items, menus, entities, attributes, enchantments, sounds, recipe serializers, Creative Mode tabs, client renderers, menu bindings, item properties, resource packs, chunk forcing, inventory slots, item fluids, player messages, damage sources, particles, runtime environment detection, mod detection, configuration directories, and client/server runtime access.
## Command Editor Improvements
First-join commands and world-initialization commands now use a shared command list editor.
The editor supports adding, editing, deleting, moving entries up or down, and vanilla command auto-completion.
## UI and Text Improvements
A large number of configuration screens, status messages, TPS information displays, item copy messages, and save-state texts have been standardized for more consistent visual feedback.
Additional formatting translation keys have also been added to improve visual consistency across Kinetic interfaces.
## Development Architecture Upgrade
KineticCore now follows a clearer architecture:
`feature -> api -> internal -> Minecraft / Forge`
Both KineticCore's own features and external Kinetic addons are expected to use the public API layer first.
New API surface and architecture verification rules help prevent feature code from bypassing the public API, exposing internal implementations, or reimplementing capabilities that already exist in the shared API.
Public API Javadocs can also be generated through the dedicated documentation task, making it easier to inspect available methods during addon development and AI-assisted development.
## Compatibility Notice
KineticCore 26.9.22 includes a large-scale public API migration and should be treated as a breaking API update.
Addon mods compiled against KineticCore 26.9.12 or older may not be compatible with this version.
When updating KineticCore, please also update all Kinetic-series addons to versions that support the new API.
