Description
Kindlewood RPG adds classes, mob levels and affix loot. It is part of the Kindlewood RPG mods and needs Kindlewood Core and Kindlewood Levels.
Classes
- Three class trees: Warrior, Ranger and Mage, each with three branches of five rows (45 skills). Press K to open them.
- Class points come from your character level (60 at level 100), and you can spend them in any class, so you can master one and dip into another. Deeper rows need points in that class first.
- Active skills go on R, F and G, and one ultimate on V. They use Rage (Warrior, built by fighting), Stamina (Ranger) or Mana (Mage), with cooldowns shown on the skill bar.
- Affinity: every point in a class makes its weapons stronger in your hands: Warrior with melee weapons, Ranger with bows and crossbows, Mage with spells (including magic damage from other spell mods). Works with modded gear through item and damage-type tags.
- Respec from the tree screen for a few XP levels.
Mob levels
- Hostile mobs get a level from how far from a safe place they spawn: about one level every 500 blocks from world spawn, up to level 100.
- The Nether starts at level 25 and the End at 50.
- Each level adds health, damage and a little armor on top of the mob's normal stats. Bosses keep their own balance by default.
- Look at a mob to see its level above its head: green is easy for you, yellow is a fair fight, red is dangerous.
- Higher-level mobs give more XP through Kindlewood Levels.
Affix loot
- Weapons and armor from mobs, chests and fishing roll a rarity: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic or Legendary.
- Each rarity above Common adds one more random affix, up to four. Affixes include Strength, Dexterity, Intelligence, Vitality, critical chance and damage, spell power, cooldown reduction, mana, the six element damages and resistances, health, armor, toughness, speed and knockback resistance.
- Gear found deeper in the world has a higher item level, which makes its affixes stronger and rare tiers likelier.
- Hostile mobs sometimes drop an extra piece of gear that matches the area's level.
- Works with modded weapons and armor that use the vanilla item types, and with item tags for anything else.
For server owners and pack makers
- Every number is in
config/kindlewood_rpg-server.toml: blocks per level, dimension starting levels, extra safe points (hubs), fixed-level zones, mob scaling, rarity weights and drop chances. - Affixes are datapack files in
data/<namespace>/kindlewood_rpg/affix/, so you can add, change or remove them. - Item tags:
kindlewood_rpg:affixable/melee,/ranged,/armorand/anyadd items;kindlewood_rpg:not_affixablekeeps items out;kindlewood_rpg:loot_gear/early,/midand/lateset what the extra gear drops can be. - Commands (operators):
/kwrpg moblevelshows the level where you stand, and/kwrpg roll <rarity> [level]rolls the item you hold.
Compatibility
Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge 21.1. Needed on both the client and the server. Requires Kindlewood Core and Kindlewood Levels.
Modpacks
You may include Kindlewood mods in any modpack, as long as the pack downloads them from this page (or Modrinth). No need to ask.
