Kindlewood Core is the shared library behind the Kindlewood RPG mods. It adds no gameplay of its own; it gives the other mods one consistent set of RPG systems so they work together, and so other modpacks can use any single Kindlewood mod on its own.
What it provides
- RPG stats as normal attributes: strength, dexterity, intelligence, vitality, critical chance and damage, spell power and cooldown reduction. Gear and effects from any mod can carry them, and they show in tooltips.
- Six elements: fire, frost, lightning, poison, holy and shadow, each with damage and resistance. Matching vanilla damage counts automatically (lava is fire, freezing is frost, wither is shadow).
- One damage pipeline: element bonuses, dexterity for bows and crossbows, critical hits, then resistance (capped), in a fixed order every Kindlewood mod hooks into.
- Stat sources: races, levels, skill trees and classes each add their bonuses under their own name, so nothing double-counts and bonuses survive death.
- Resource bars: mana, rage, stamina and patience with regeneration and a small HUD bar. Bars only appear when a class or race mod turns them on.
- Balance data (optional, off by default): server owners can turn on recording of gameplay statistics under anonymous player IDs to tune balance, plus a
/feedbackcommand. When it's on, players are told when they join, and it never records private messages.
Every number is in the server config (serverconfig/kindlewood_core-server.toml).
Who needs it
Install it if you use any other Kindlewood mod; CurseForge installs it for you as a dependency. On its own it changes almost nothing you can see.
Compatibility
Minecraft 1.21.1, NeoForge 21.1. Needed on both the client and the server.
Modpacks
You may include Kindlewood mods in any modpack, as long as the pack downloads them from this page (or Modrinth). No need to ask.
All the Kindlewood mods come together in the Kindlewood modpack, a public development build: https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/modpacks/kindlewood
