# Utility Machines
Practical machines, a complete locksmithing system, fast tiered rails, hunter's traps and protected blocks, all in one mod. Every block and item uses real 3D models, and you get an in-game **Recipe Notebook** the first time you join a world, so you never need to look up a recipe.
## Machines
- **Repairer**: 27 slots. Every damaged item repairs itself, from broken to fully repaired in 20 minutes.
- **Tube**: picks up loose items in its block (or on an adjacent pressure plate) and carries them through the network to the nearest inventory that accepts them.
- **Auto Grower**: buried under farmland, it replants the crop every cycle once it has grown. Bone meal speeds it up.
- **Elevator**: jump to go up to the next elevator, sneak to go down.
- **Drill**: install it on a minecart. It mines, lays rails automatically and stores what it mines in a chest minecart.
- **Sentry Bell**: rings and emits a redstone signal when someone touches a padlock or anchored block nearby.
## Locksmithing
- **Lock Table**: a guided interface with two tabs.
- *New set*: 3 pieces of a material give you a key and a padlock with a fresh code.
- *Copy key*: 1 piece gives a copy with the same code (up to two generations).
- **Padlocks and keys** come in 5 tiers: wooden, copper, iron, diamond and netherite. Padlocks work on doors, trapdoors, gates, chests, barrels, furnaces and more.
- **Lockpick**: forces a padlock open for 10 seconds. The chance depends on the material, netherite can't be picked, and a failed attempt sounds an alarm and alerts the owner.
- **Keyring**: holds up to 12 keys.
- **Master Key**: opens every padlock except netherite.
- Diamond and netherite padlocks resist explosions and destructive mobs.
## Reinforced Doors
Combine any vanilla wooden door with a padlock in the crafting grid to get a **Reinforced Door** with its own model (thick frame, hardware, lock plate and window). It only opens with the key of the padlock used and can't be pushed by pistons. Available for all 8 wood types: oak, spruce, birch, acacia, cherry, jungle, dark oak and mangrove.
## Anchored Blocks
Right-click any block with the **Anchor Key** to anchor it to your name. The block keeps its exact look, but nobody else can break it, build on top of it, blow it up or push it with a piston. Only you can release it. While holding the key, anchored blocks are outlined in **green** (yours) or **red** (someone else's).
## Tiered Rails
- **Gold**: big speed boost.
- **Emerald**: brakes, ideal for stations.
- **Diamond**: very fast.
- **Netherite**: maximum speed and indestructible.
## Hunter's Trap & Carrying Pole
- Place a trap on the ground: the first living creature that steps on it is captured inside the block, unharmed and unkillable. Players and mounted creatures can't be trapped.
- Every 5 seconds the captive may try to escape, depending on the material: **wood 25%, stone 15%, iron 8%, diamond 2%, netherite 0%**.
- Use the **Carrying Pole** to pick up to 4 traps with their animals, move them and place them again exactly as they were.
## Commands
- `/um drill`: shows the state of the rail network.
