Players

  • Gearworks' description in the mod list names the Bore Lance beside the Suit.
  • The suits are now named Iron Suit, Diamond Suit and Netherite Suit, where they were Iron, Diamond and Netherite Gear; the Gear Grid, Gear Upgrades and Gear Bench keep their names. (#11)
  • The Bore Lance, a spear that is also a mining tool, in iron and diamond. The Iron Bore Lance is crafted from an iron spear ringed with copper and redstone, as the Iron Suit is, and the Diamond Bore Lance from the iron one and three diamonds; each keeps the enchantments it was made with. Each is its material's spear with a little more attack damage, a harder charged hit and twice its material's durability, with Lunge built in, I on iron and II on diamond, which no grindstone takes off; it lunges by vanilla's rules, from the jab, with food above 6, not riding, gliding or in water. Each mines rock up to its material's level at its material's speed: a left-click jabs, and holding it mines, so mining never lunges, the lance held out at the full reach of its jab until let go. A lance mining a block breaks its Bore with it: 1×1 on iron and up to 3×3 on diamond, on the face it hit and three blocks deep, skipping any block harder than the one hit or that it doesn't mine, each block dropping where it stood under the lance's Fortune or Silk Touch and costing 1 durability. A key (B by default) steps the lance in the main hand through its Bores, widest first; the lance keeps its choice, shows it in its tooltip and says it on the action bar when it changes. Holding left-click while sneaking mines a single block. The iron lance breaks; the diamond lance never does, stopping at its last durability, worn out, when it neither bores nor lunges until repaired. Pack authors set what a Bore breaks with the block tag gearworks:mineable/bore_lance, a pickaxe's by default. (#12)
  • Lunge Boring: while a Bore Lance's Lunge carries the player forward, the lance breaks its Bore through what lies ahead of them, three deep from as far as they have come, up to a block per level of Lunge, straight on the way they faced, and always the two blocks they fill, so the iron lance's 1×1 Bore opens a way they fit through. A lunge breaks whatever the lance's tier mines, rock or not and whatever gearworks:mineable/bore_lance holds, and passes through air, water and grass. The dash stops at the first block of the Bore beyond the lance's tier, unbreakable or protected, and breaks nothing past it: obsidian stops the iron lance, and only bedrock and its like stop the diamond one. Each block costs 10 durability, set by lungeBoringCost in the server config, so a lance that wears out or breaks partway stops there. (#13)
  • The Netherite Bore Lance, smithed from the diamond one with a netherite upgrade template and a netherite ingot, keeping its enchantments but Unbreaking and Mending, which it drops with its wear. It is the netherite spear with a little more attack damage and a harder charged hit, mines at netherite's level and speed in Bores up to 5×3×3, has Lunge III built in, survives fire and lava, and has no durability: it runs on FE instead, holding 1,000,000, which any mod's charger fills. A lunge costs 2,000 FE a level of Lunge and needs no food; each block of a Bore, the hit one included, costs 50 FE, and each block Lunge Boring breaks 500 FE, so a lance that runs dry partway stops there. Dry, it is still a full spear and mines single blocks at its speed, but neither lunges nor bores; its tooltip shows its FE and says when it is dry, or holds too little to lunge. A worn Suit charges it in either hand at 1,000 FE a tick, only from what the Suit holds over 25% of its batteries. Unbreaking and Mending can't be put on it, and do nothing on it. Each number is in the server config: netheriteLanceCapacity, netheriteLanceLungeEnergy, netheriteLanceBoreEnergy, netheriteLanceLungeBoringEnergy, netheriteLanceChargeRate and netheriteLanceChargeReserve. (#14)
  • Breaking: the Flight Upgrade flies slower when fresh and faster as it levels: at Level 0 about half of creative's flying speed, with each Level adding to it, so it is back at creative's speed by Level 9 and approaches twice it without ever reaching it. Its Levels still lower its FE draw. Its tooltips show the speed, and the server config's flightCeiling sets how fast it can get. A player whose game mode or another mod lets them fly keeps their own flying speed. (ADR 0006)
  • Boost (1×3, one per suit): a key, unbound until you bind it, throws a flying player along their gaze, as a firework throws a glider, for a 25-tick Thrust that carries them as fast whichever way they look. Each Boost spends 1,000 FE and starts a 5-second Cooldown, shown as a thin orange bar beside the HUD's energy bar; a press in the Cooldown, short of FE or not flying fizzles. Its Thrust pulls toward about 1.2 blocks a tick at Level 0, near a rocket's 1.5 by Level 3, bending toward the boostCeiling server config (2.5) and never reaching it. Each Level adds 0.2 to its pull before the bend, takes about 100 FE off its cost toward the boostFloor (200 FE) and about half a second off its Cooldown toward the boostCooldownFloor (25 ticks, and never shorter than the Thrust, boostTicks). Landing ends the Thrust. In creative mode a Boost is free but still cools down. It is crafted from four gold ingots, four firework rockets and a dispenser, and its Levels cost gold and gunpowder, then diamonds, then netherite and nether stars.

Consumers

  • GearContent.NETHERITE_BORE_LANCE, which exposes Capabilities.Energy.ITEM and stores its FE in the gearworks:energy component the Suit uses. (#14)
  • Breaking: a flight upgrade's amount in the gearworks:gear_upgrade data map is now read, as its flying speed in fractions of creative's, and amount_per_level raises it toward the flightCeiling; an entry written with amount: 1 flies at about 79% of creative's speed, and faster as it levels only if it sets amount_per_level. (ADR 0006)
  • The Boost Stat, Stat.BOOST, GearContent.BOOST_UPGRADE, Suit.Totals.cooldown and GearworksConfig.cooldownFloor. A gearworks:gear_upgrade entry takes optional cooldown and cooldown_per_level fields, in ticks, which only Boost reads; every entry without them reads as before. GearUpgrade gains cooldown and cooldownPerLevel components, and its old seven-argument constructor stays, for an upgrade that never waits.
  • GearContent.IRON_BORE_LANCE and DIAMOND_BORE_LANCE, the Bore Lance's gearworks:bore component, its recipe type gearworks:crafting_bore_lance, and the block tag gearworks:mineable/bore_lance. (#12)
  • Breaking: the Java that means the Suit says Suit, leaving Gear for the family of the Suit and the Bore Lance (ADR 0005): Gear is now Suit (and Gear.Totals Suit.Totals), GearItem is SuitItem, GearTicker is SuitTicker, and GearContent.IRON_GEAR, DIAMOND_GEAR and NETHERITE_GEAR are IRON_SUIT, DIAMOND_SUIT and NETHERITE_SUIT. Item, data map, component and attribute modifier ids keep gear, and Gear Grid, Gear Upgrade and Gear Bench keep their names. (#10)
  • Gearworks' game-test code and structures no longer ship in its jar (libworks ADR 0011): a Consumer's game tests and dev client no longer register Gearworks' test types, gearworks:code and gearworks:day_time, nor carry its gametest/platform structure. Gearworks builds on libworks-plugin 0.4.0.
