Reputation Matters
Villagers keep track of what you do.
Opening containers near villagers can make them suspicious.
Breaking workstations or stealing from villagers can severely damage your reputation.
As your reputation falls, villagers may:
• Become suspicious of you
• Refuse to trade
• Warn other villagers
• Gossip about your actions
• Become openly hostile
Meanwhile, helping villages and behaving honorably can earn trust and friendship.
Village Gossip
Villagers communicate with each other.
If one villager witnesses a crime, others will eventually hear about it through gossip. Your reputation spreads naturally throughout the community, creating a believable and immersive social system.
Talk to Villagers
Sneak and right-click a villager or Iron Golem to begin a conversation.
You can type messages or speak directly into your microphone.
Villagers react dynamically based on their profession, personality, and your reputation. Friendly villagers may offer advice and encouragement, while hostile villagers may insult, reject, or accuse you.
Iron Golems act as stoic guardians and can also participate in conversations.

Because Karmic Villagers runs advanced AI models locally, it requires more powerful hardware than a typical Minecraft mod.

First-Time Setup
The first launch automatically downloads and configures all required AI components, including:
• Intelligence Module
• Cognitive Core
• Vocalization Engine
• Auditory Engine
• Runtime Dependencies
A high-speed internet connection is strongly recommended for the initial setup process. Approximately several gigabytes of AI models and dependencies may be downloaded.
After setup is complete, the mod functions entirely offline.
No internet connection is required for normal gameplay.
