What's new

[0.7.2]

JASM 0.7.2 adds the Docking Station, a new way to set up Access Port recipes and an Auto Output switch for machines, and makes filters tell item variants apart.

Added

  • Docking Station holds and charges a Deck on its network. While loaded, it lets ports, crafting jobs, eligible rules and Deck-to-Deck deliveries use that Deck while its owner is offline. The deposited Deck starts locked, and breaking or wrenching the station keeps it inside the dropped block; while the Deck is locked, only the Deck or Network Owner can remove it.
  • The Deck's Network tab shows live power use on machine rows, in their hovers and as a network total. Zero-use machines show no number.
  • Double-clicking an item in the Deck screen sends matching stacks from your inventory and hotbar into storage. Items that do not fit stay with you.
  • Access, Input and Two-Way Ports accept fluids pushed into them; thin Input and Two-Way Ports also accept pushed items. An Access Port can use incoming fluid for a waiting processing job.
  • Auto Output switch on the Chip Workshop and Crystal Foundry. When on, the machine pushes finished items out of its Output and Input/Output sides; when off, hoppers, pipes and Input Ports can still take them out. For Access Port jobs, set the side facing the port to Input/Output and turn Auto Output on.
  • The side settings panel of the Chip Workshop, Crystal Foundry and Bays shows the block next to each side on its button and names it in the hover. A thin port on a cable shows as the port.
  • Middle-click a filled slot of a processing pattern in the Encoding Terminal to type an exact amount. Fluids are typed in buckets with up to three decimals, for example 1.25.
  • Access Port recipe screen. Right-click an Access Port to pick which processing recipes it makes. A searchable list of the recipes in your Recipe Racks sits on the left (hover one for its details, fold the list away with the key on its left edge), and the recipes the port serves, up to 16, are on the main panel. Click a recipe to add it, click it again in the active bar to remove it.
  • Machine row on the Access Port screen shows the machine the port works with and whether it is idle or in use. A full block port works with one type of machine, the first one it finds; when more types touch it, click another icon to switch.
  • Rename key on the Access Port screen opens a small window with a name field and a Rename button, replacing the name box.
  • Crafting and Processing keys beside Encode on the Network Encoder: the crafting table writes a crafting card, the furnace a processing card.
  • New client setting portRecipesFolded in jasm-client.toml, off by default, remembers whether the Access Port recipe list is folded.
  • A mined or wrenched Access Port keeps its name, machine type, recipes, Blocking Mode and redstone mode, and has them again when placed.
  • A server setting can turn off the Elite Combustion Generator recipe. Elite generators already placed keep working.
  • Copy and Paste keys on the Access Port screen remember a port's name and active recipes until the game closes. Paste replaces another port's name and recipes, or with Shift adds the recipes up to the 16 limit.

Changed

  • Processing recipes are set up differently. A processing card now holds only its recipe and names no machine or port: write it with the Processing key, keep it in a Recipe Rack, and pick the recipe in the Access Port that should make it. Cards written in 0.7.1 are picked in the ports they were written for as soon as their Recipe Rack has power, so existing setups keep working.
  • Several Access Ports with the same recipe picked share the work, the way several machines do.
  • A block Access Port's Power Upgrade now powers only the machines of the type the port works with.
  • Ports no longer use or store power. Access, Input, Output, Two-Way and Storage Ports work on a network with no power at all, with or without Speed Upgrades, and FE they held in older worlds is dropped.
  • The Access Port screen shows the FE per tick its Power Upgrade is passing on, where its charge bar was. Without a Power Upgrade it shows nothing there.
  • A crafting job whose recipe no Access Port serves now waits and shows "No Access Port serving recipe", then carries on once a port serves it again. Asking for such an item says the same.
  • Filters tell item variants apart. Items that share one item ID but differ by their data, such as Productive Bees combs, can now be filtered one by one in wafers, Transfer Ports, Storage Ports and the Deployment and Demolition Bays. Damage, repair cost and custom names are still ignored, and filter rows made before this update still match every variant.
  • Newly placed Chip Workshops and Crystal Foundries start with every side on Input and with Auto Output off. Machines already in a world keep their sides and keep pushing as before.
  • Processing pattern slots in the Encoding Terminal now hold up to 9,999 items or 9,999 buckets (was 999 items and 32 buckets).
  • The wrench puts a picked-up block straight into your inventory, followed by anything the block held, such as a Recipe Rack's cards. Only what does not fit drops on the ground.
  • Shift-clicking a recipe result in the Deck crafts up to one stack instead of as many as possible.
  • Chip Workshop Speed Upgrades now use their own configurable times for Blank Chip production. With four upgrades, a full eight-chip batch takes 3.75 seconds; separate Workshop settings control the time and FE cost at each upgrade level.
  • The Workshop now charges its Bitling as fast as the available supply and battery room allow. A chip job starts when it can afford one chip; at completion, it makes and pays for only the chips it can afford, leaving unused Blank Chips in place.
  • The default typed Bitling battery, power.batteryBitling, changes from 100,000 to 150,000 FE.
  • Elite and Ultimate Decks, and their Crafting Decks, hold more charge: 500,000 FE and 1,000,000 FE (were 125,000 and 250,000). Decks you already have keep their charge, so their bar shows less until they are topped up. The sizes of all Deck batteries can now be changed in the server config.
  • Crafting Servers now use only their installed Processors' power, and only while they have a job—including a job that is waiting. An idle server uses none.
  • The Elite Combustion Generator burns fuel 6x as fast as a furnace (was 8x) and makes 480 FE a tick (was 640). A piece of fuel still gives about as much power: coal gives 127,680 FE (was 128,000).
  • The Basic Combustion Generator recipe now uses a Blast Furnace instead of a Furnace. Advanced and Elite generators now each require two generators of the preceding tier, a Blank Upgrade and a Power Interface in addition to their tier ingredients.
  • The top wafers cost more netherite: the 256K Capacity Wafer takes 2 netherite ingots (was 2 scrap), the 1M Capacity Wafer 2 netherite blocks (was 2 ingots), the 128 Type Wafer 4 netherite ingots (was 4 scrap) and the 256 Type Wafer 4 netherite blocks (was 4 ingots).
  • The Link, Logic and Memory Bytelings take a netherite ingot instead of netherite scrap.
  • Turning a Power Interface into its cable-mounted form no longer needs redstone, and a cable-mounted Power Interface can be crafted back into the block.
  • Processing recipe cards no longer show coordinates in their hover text. Crafting Server job rows no longer show the inline blue machine name; their hovers remain.
  • The Network Encoder, Recipe Rack, Crafting Server, Crystal Foundry and Chip Workshop have revised casings and side faces.

Removed

  • The power.serverDrain setting is gone. Crafting Servers no longer add a separate base drain to their Processors' power use.
  • The power.portDrain setting (default 2 FE a tick) is gone, since ports no longer use power.
  • Holding Shift while scrolling over a processing pattern slot no longer changes the amount in bigger steps.
  • Picking a machine at the Network Encoder is gone, along with its machine list. Pick the recipe in the Access Port instead.

Fixed

  • JEI's "+" in the Deck's crafting grid could place nothing when you were short of an item, or when the recipe accepts several kinds (2 oak and 2 birch planks for a crafting table). It now places what it shows, and slots only an uncharged Deck could fill show as missing.
  • In creative mode, items from a wrenched block that did not fit in your inventory were lost. They now drop on the ground.
  • Swapping the machine behind an Access Port could make jobs feed the wrong machine. The port now follows the new machine once the old type is gone, and keeps sending.
  • A crafting job could wait forever on a machine or Access Port that was gone. It now says why, carries on once a port serves the recipe again, and stops waiting on ingredients sent to a port that was mined. Cancel still gives everything back.
  • Block ports take fairer turns between adjacent machines instead of repeatedly favouring one when another cannot transfer.
  • Craft requests put missing ingredients first, and the Craft button refreshes when a busy server becomes available.
  • Machine charge-bar tooltips show their configured FE/t use.
  • A Crafting Deck clears its selected fluid and icon when that fluid runs out.
  • Crafting jobs reuse items a recipe hands back, such as Mystical Agriculture's Infusion Crystals, even when the copy is enchanted, renamed or anvil-repaired. Before, a 1 Tertium Essence job could ask for 4 extra crystals. A card can now also use an enchanted or renamed copy of such an item from storage.
  • Autocrafting reported seeds and other stackable items as missing when the stored ones carried extra data from another mod, such as crop stats. Crafting and processing jobs now use them, plain ones first; renamed or enchanted stacks are left alone, now also by JEI's "+" in the Deck.
  • Fully trained Bitlings and Nibblings are recognised when filling evolution recipes and using their encoded cards.
  • A thin port facing another machine identifies itself as a port rather than a cable when that machine checks its neighbour.
  • The Crafting Deck's jobs button stays pressed in after you close the jobs panel with its x or Escape. It now pops back out, like clicking the button again.
  • Adding or taking out a Speed Upgrade while a Chip Workshop or Crystal Foundry is part way through a job changed how far along it was. Half done now stays half done, and only the time left gets shorter or longer.
  • An Access Port job whose machine hands an item back, such as a crystal, waited forever when the item came back worn or without its name. Any copy of that item now counts and goes out with the next set.
  • Modded machines that use more than 5,000 FE a tick ran short behind a port with a Power Upgrade, even when the network had plenty, and the first machine around a port could take all the power. A port now passes on as much as each machine takes, and splits it evenly between its machines when there isn't enough.
