JSI Modpack Update Checker

Modpack Update Checker is a lightweight client-side mod that helps players stay informed about updates to their modpack.

It checks a configured public GitHub repository for newer version tags in the background and displays the result directly in the Minecraft main menu.

For modpack authors

This mod requires pack-specific configuration. Include config/modpack-update-checker.json and the configured local version marker with your modpack.

The current version supports four-part version tags such as v1.2.3.4 and test tags such as v1.2.3.4-test1.

For FancyMenu layouts, the update status button uses the component ID modpack_update_checker_status.

Requirements

• Minecraft 1.21.1
• NeoForge 21.1.242 or newer within the 21.1 series
• Java 21

Install this mod on the client. FancyMenu is optional.

Update behavior

This mod provides update notifications and a GitHub link. It does not automatically download or install modpack updates.
