What's new
Jail+ 0.6.0 — Alpha 6
Alpha 6 introduces the new Jail Guard system, giving each jail its own configurable escape-response force.
New Jail Guard System
-
Added configurable guards for escaped prisoners.
-
Each jail can have its own guard type and guard count.
-
Wolves remain the default Jail+ guard.
-
Added support for suitable ground-based hostile Minecraft mobs as guards.
-
Added Killer Bunny guard support.
-
Guards pursue escaped prisoners and recover if they become stuck.
-
Multiple escaped prisoners can have independent guard pursuits.
-
Different jails can simultaneously use different guard types and guard counts.
-
Guard count can be configured from 0–32, allowing guards to be disabled entirely.
-
Jail+ pursuit guards are protected against causing unwanted block destruction.
Police Gnome
Alpha 6 introduces the Police Gnome, Jail+'s own built-in custom guard mob.
The Police Gnome is included directly with Jail+ — no additional police, NPC or guard mod is required.
Police Gnomes are small, fast prison guards complete with their own flashing police beacon and can be selected as a jail's guard type.
Multiplayer
The new guard system has been tested with multiple prisoners, simultaneous and staggered escapes, different jails, different guard configurations and innocent players nearby.
Additional multiplayer testing and refinement will continue throughout Alpha development.
Commands
/jail set <jail> guardtype <entity>
/jail set <jail> guardcount <0-32>
Examples:
/jail set myjail guardtype wolf
/jail set myjail guardtype police_gnome
/jail set myjail guardtype zombie
/jail set myjail guardcount 4
Jail+ remains in active Alpha development. Bug reports and multiplayer testing feedback are welcome.
