Whats up guys Racing Raftaar here again. Today i am bringing you my biggest and probably the scariest project ever. I play a lot of horror mods on java edition like cave dweller or from the fog but honestly they get boring very fast.
those addons is usually very dumb and you can just build a 3 block dirt tower or lock yourself in a house and the monster just stands there looking at you. I wanted to make something that actually scares you because it is smart. So i made the IT KNOWS addon. This is not just a cheap jumpscare pack. It is an addon that literally reads your actual minecraft save file and learns how you play before it attacks you.
The Five Phases
When you first load the mod nothing happens for like three days. This is phase 0 the grace period where you just build your base and forget the mod is even installed. But then phase 1 starts and you hear small wrong things like a torch breaking behind you or breathing in a cave you just dug.
Then phase 2 starts and this is where it gets crazy. The mod actually starts talking to you in a real human voice. It reads your stats. It will literally tell you out loud how many times you died, how far you walked, which bed you sleep in and what blocks you were mining ten seconds ago. Then phase 3 you start seeing the eye watching you from far away. Finally phase 4 is The Hunt where it stops pretending and comes to kill you.
Unescapable Hunt and Smart Mod
I made sure you cannot cheat or cheese this addon. In other horror mods you can just go underwater or build a wall to escape. Not here. The entity is a floating eye so it literally has a ghost mode. If it cant reach you because you hid in a bunker, it will just phase through solid blocks and walls in a straight line to get you. You also cannot sleep in a bed to skip the night during a hunt.
The game will just block you and say you cannot sleep. Also if you try to run 100 blocks away it will just teleport right behind you. The craziest thing is that it adapts to how you fight. If you keep shooting it with a bow, the next time it hunts you it will literally have projectile resistance and tell you out loud that arrows wont work anymore. If you run away too much it learns to run faster. It is completely unescapable.
Voices and Decaying Music
The sound design in this addon is insane. I added 124 original sounds and 69 spoken lines. But the coolest part is the voice arc. In phase 1 the voice talking to you is a very sweet and kind young girl who says you are safe with her.
But as the phases go on the voice starts getting distorted. By phase 3 the voice changes to a creepy man who tells you the girl was never real. And during the final boss fight all the voices stack on top of each other and you can still hear the girl trapped underneath. There is also a music box lullaby that plays perfectly on day 1 but slowly loses notes and goes out of tune until the final boss fight where it plays at max volume.
The Ritual and Boss Fight
If you survive the hunts you can build a sigil and start the ritual to fight the final boss called THE UNBLINKING. it is an eye that actually shuts itself to block your attacks. It has 4 enrage stages. I also added a crawler swarm during the boss fight.
These are tiny fast mobs that swarm you and give you slowness so you cant just run backwards in a circle the whole fight. You have to actually manage the crowd while fighting the boss. Oh and when you join the world you get an item called the Watchers Journal which opens a GUI panel to track what phase you are in and your stats.
How to Apply in Minecraft
Since this is a java edition addon you need to install NeoForge version 21.1.252 or higher for Minecraft 1.21.1. Just download the jar file and drop it into your mods folder. There are zero dependencies so you dont need to download any extra library mods. Just drop it in and play.
Config Setup
I made everything customizable so server owners can enjoy it. You can change the pacing, whether it breaks torches, or turn off jumpscares completely in the config file. Make sure your java edition world is set up correctly and if you used an older dev build make sure you delete the old config file so the new pacing works properly.
