Iron's Voicebound Spells

Turn your voice into magic. Iron's Voicebound Spells is an unofficial voice-casting addon made exclusively for Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks. Speak a configured incantation and the addon uses Iron's official quick-cast system to cast the matching spell.

Language Support

Iron's Voicebound Spells supports both English and Brazilian Portuguese (PT-BR) through separate language editions.

Open the Files or Versions menu and download the file corresponding to your spoken language:

• English Only: English speech recognition, interface and default incantations.

• PT-BR Only: Brazilian Portuguese speech recognition, interface and default incantations.

Install only one language edition at a time. The CurseForge App may automatically select the newest compatible file, so check the filename before installing.

Features

• Custom words or phrases for each spell, with multiple alternatives separated by commas.

• Search spells by their original name or any configured spoken incantation.

• Temporary transcription HUD showing what was recognized.

• Exact, sentence and conservative similar-word matching modes.

• Per-player profiles, microphone selection and an input volume meter.

• Voice test mode that identifies a spell without casting it.

• Normal Iron's rules remain active, including mana, cooldowns, spell levels, equipped items and casting time.

Quick Tutorial

1. Download the English Only or PT-BR Only file from the Files/Versions menu.

2. Install it together with Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks and its required dependencies.

3. Enter a world and equip a spellbook or another item containing available spells.

4. Press V once to start listening.

5. Say the configured incantation:

   • English edition: “fireball”

   • PT-BR edition: “bola de fogo”

6. Press V again to stop listening.

To interrupt an active cast, say:

• English edition: “cancel spell”

• PT-BR edition: “cancelar magia”

Voice Options

Press O to open the voice options. From this screen you can:

• Switch between currently available spells and the complete spell catalog.

• Search by spell name or spoken activation phrase.

• Add multiple incantations separated by commas.

• Require an exact phrase or allow it inside a longer sentence.

• Enable conservative similar-word recognition.

• Show or hide transcription messages.

• Enable or disable confirmation sounds.

• Select a microphone and monitor its input volume.

• Use Test Voice to check recognition without casting anything.

Examples of multiple incantations:

• English: fireball, flame orb, blaze

• PT-BR: bola de fogo, fogo, brasa

Green indicators use the fast Vosk path, yellow indicators may require Whisper, and red indicators identify invalid, reserved or duplicated phrases. Press Save to apply your changes or Cancel to discard them.

Requirements

• Minecraft 1.20.1

• Forge 47.4.x

• Java 17

• Iron's Spells 'n Spellbooks 1.20.1-3.15.4 through 3.16.x

• Iron's required dependencies: GeckoLib, Curios, Player Animator and Iron's Libraries

For multiplayer, install the same language edition on both the client and server. Microphone capture and speech recognition remain on the client; only the resolved spell request is sent to the server for validation.

Privacy

Voice processing happens locally on your computer. Audio is not uploaded to the internet or permanently recorded. The included local recognition models make the download larger than a typical addon.
