Iron Jetpacks is a fully customizable Forge Energy powered jetpacks mod. All jetpacks this mod adds by default are completely configurable via JSON files.
This mod also allows for the addition of custom jetpacks!
- This is done by simply copy + pasting one of the default jetpack jsons and changing the name (and all the other values if you want).
- Both the name of the file and the "name" value in the JSON need to be changed.
- It's also important to note that the "name" in the JSON should be all lower case with underscores for spaces.
- The jetpack JSONs can be found in ../config/ironjetpacks/jetpacks
- Make sure to head to the wiki linked in the navigation bar for explanations on what the different values mean.
I wanted to use the jetpacks for a aerial base with giant bridges, but because of the throttle speed and the hovering going so much up and down, it was VERY difficult to make precise buildings. if there could be a speed adjustment upgrade, tool, workbench or even a config file to make the jetpacks more personalized for the purpose the user has with the jetpacks. other than that very amazing, creative and thought through mod. I love it. but it would be perfect with those small adjustments.
Is there any way to add new coils or is the mod limited to the original 4(iron,gold,diamond,emerald). I’d like to make a coil with the Ores Above Diamonds mod or with ancient scraps for end-game jetpacks.
Is there a way to control the vertical and horizontal throttles separately? I mainly want to use the jetpacks in hover mode for building, but the horizontal speed is WAY too fast! If I tone down the throttle enough, the vertical speed feels like almost nothing. 1.18.1, in case that matters~

Hello friend, how are you?
Is it possible to make the jetpacks compatible with the Curios back slot? Because it's really bad to have to use it in place of the breastplate and be without that part of the armor. I look forward to a response or even an update. Thanks!
Brother, I’ve noticed while using the Stone and Silver jetpacks, if I take a bunch of damage, they just break even though they’re full of energy. I’ve died multiple times because of this. Is this supposed to happen? Am playing ATM7 on 1.18.1.
Fabric Please.
Bro... please assign tags so that curio recognizes the jetpacks as back items. id really love to wear armor at the same time as the jet pack. its kinda hard to use these in space when they replace the oxygen loader spacesuit... kind of suffocates the ideal actually.
Good Evening mate, in the latest version of ATM7 your jetpack, when the energy reaches 0 they break and get destroyed like armour.
thanks for the fix, also i was wondering if its possible to change the value of durability as the wiki says nothing about this, thanks :3
having issues making the jetpacks on 1.18.1
Ooh, it's updated! I was looking over my custom configs for this the other day. So cool!
Is there a way to add the jetpack property to another item?
For example making netherite chestplates into jetpacks.
In reply to DrTid_was_taken: - - many ppl have recommended using Baubles/Curios to open a chestplate slot for backpack/elytra/etc mods, as they add extra slots that sometimes allow you to combine more than one function. [EDIT: if you find no 'way to add the jetpack property to another item']
dude how can I power the jetpacks I cant figure it out
In reply to jabsona12:
the iron jetpack mod does not come with generators try mekanism generators to power them
In reply to jabsona12: [old post, but for the future adventurers ...]
For simply easy FE power (Forge Energy) I'd suggest a few mini-mods by canitzp <-LINK:
1.Solar Helmet <-LINK;
2. Just A Battery <LINK;
and maybe also...
3. Auto Feeder Helmet (my favourite since it's for 1.12 too!!)<LINK;
It would be nice if there was an config in the jetpack json to make hovering take less fuel than full throttle because realistically hovering is less fuel intensive than going up at full throttle.
I cant craft any of the jetpacks but the platinum one and diamond anyone know the solution to this problem. Cant even craft wooden components.
