Intuitive Shooting lets you load almost anything into a crossbow and gives every projectile behavior based on what the item intuitively ought to do.

Blocks fly at full size and place themselves with their data intact. Tools deal impact damage, apply enchantments, and mine suitable blocks. Fuels feed furnaces, buckets interact with fluids, food feeds matching creatures, dyes color compatible targets, and explosive or heavy ammunition preserves its own special behavior.

Fishing rods fire real hooks with visible lines and work as grappling hooks. Loaded crossbows can also be loaded into another crossbow. Multishot on both crossbows combines into a non-overlapping angular volley while preserving exactly one real center projectile.

The mod includes special behavior for tools, blocks, tridents, spears, TNT, end crystals, creepers, fishing rods, name tags, bundles, beds, brewing stands, food, potions, dyes, buckets, fuels, music items, vehicles, creatures, and many other types of ammunition.

Installation

Intuitive Shooting has no required external mod dependencies.

Install the matching file on both client and server:

Minecraft 1.21.11: NeoForge 21.11.42 or later
Minecraft 1.21.1: NeoForge 21.1.235 or later compatible 21.1.x versions
Java 21 is required

Do not mix files made for different Minecraft versions.

World-changing ammunition respects vanilla game rules, player permissions, world borders, spawn protection, and NeoForge protection events. Back up important worlds before testing destructive ammunition.

Important Programmer Easter Egg

If the local player deliberately fires ammunition named exactly java.lang.NullPointerException, the client intentionally enters Minecraft's standard crash-report process.

Remote players and server packets cannot trigger it. A vanilla trident enchanted with Loyalty is exempt. Do not test this easter egg while you have unsaved work.

Content Creator Permission

Videos, livestreams, screenshots, reviews, tutorials, challenges, remixes, comedy, and story-driven derivative content are explicitly allowed, including normal platform monetization.

Reuploading, mirroring, modifying, repackaging, or redistributing the mod files is not allowed.
