Into the Woods aims to add new and unique forest biomes to the Overworld. These Biomes contain unique structures, wood types, and more! Every forest will have something unique to go there for!

Note: Updating this mod in a modpack with Terrablender may cause new biomes to not generate properly.

New Biomes:

Ebony Forest:

This biome is found in warmer regions of the Overworld, usually near Savannas and Badlands.

The forest floor is mainly composed of Podzol with large Ebony Trees creating a thick canopy.

Crumbling Ruins are semi-common structures found in this biome.

Two new variants of Stone Bricks are found here, but they can also be crafted.

The ruins contain a new resource called Cerisite, which can be crafted inside a Cerisite Forge by inserting a Cerisite Crystal and then either Amethyst Shards (For obtaining more crystals) or Iron Ingots (To make a Cerisite Ingot) Click here to learn more about the Cerisite Forge.

If you find a Fragmented Key in the chests, head back to the Cerisite Forge and place it in there. If you combine the Key with a Cerisite Ingot inside of the Forge, you will obtain a Ruins Key.

A detailed guide on how to use the Cerisite Forge:

The Ruins Key is used to open the Ruins Vaults found inside of the structure, which contain unique loot such as a new Armor Trim and Armor.

The Ruin Armor is slightly weaker than Diamond Armor, but it will boost your attack damage when wearing the full set.

More items that can be made with Cerisite include:

-A Toolcrate that can store Amethyst, Iron, and Cerisite

-A Storage Vault that can store three double chests worth of items

-The Magnetic Core that will attract nearby items when powered with Redstone

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lofty Forest:

This biome is found in more mountainous areas of the Overworld, usually near Jagged Peaks.

The forest biome rests on a Skystone bed, with grass, flowers, and semi-sparse trees.

Emeralds generate more frequently here than in other mountain biomes, along with Levitatium, a new ore found only in Skystone veins.

Levitatium is used to make the Levitatium Lifter, which will give nearby entities Levitation when powered with Redstone.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Grim Woods:

This biome is found in temperate areas in the Overworld, usually next to a Dark Forest or Old Growth Taiga.

The forest floor is mainly composed of Shaded Stone with large Grim Trees creating a thick canopy. These trees are very unsettling, and they will creak occasionally. Fogbulbs found growing on the trees can cloud the player's vision.

Shaded Keeps are semi-common structures found in this biome.

These structures are made of Shaded Stone. They have an outer area, consisting of paths and intersections. The interior contains the chests. Player Detectors connected to Soul Drainers are found guarding the chests.

The structure contains hidden rooms, and the chests may have a new Armor Trim or a new item called an Occultite Gem.

Shaded are a dangerous mob that will spawn in the Keep at night, but only if a nearby player has the Fogginess effect. These mobs can drop Occultite Gems.

The Occultite Gem can be used to craft Soul Drainers and Player Detectors, but you will probably spend your first one on a Ritual Altar.

This block, when combined with four Ritual Pedestals, will be able to create more Occultite Gems or grant nearby players the Cultist effect, which decreases gravity and increases speed and attack damage.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Fallout Forest:

This biome is found near Swamps and Windswept Hills.

The forest consists of Irradiated Trees, with Nukeshrooms growing on the floor.

Metal Ruins are small structures found in this biome. They can contain a small amount of loot, and will occasionally spawn Irradiated Skeletons.

Nuclear Bunkers are rarer structures found in this biome that are found underground with an entrance exposed to the surface. They contain new rare items like an Atomic Converter, Reactor Cores, Irradiated Rods, and Reactor Swords. Many Irradiated Skeletons guard the interior.

Every Bunker is guaranteed to contain an Atomic Converter.

This block can be used to rust Metallic Plates (Which won't naturally rust outside of the biome), Craft Irradiated Rods (Used for Fluorescent Lamps and Reactor Cores), and repair Broken Reactor Swords. These can be found rarely in chests within the Bunker and they are repaired with Reactor Cores that can be crafted or found in the Bunker.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Frostbitten Forest:

This biome spawns in Tundras and Snowy Taigas.

The forest consists of Icy Trees, and the entire biome is covered with a thick layer of snow.

Potions of Blizzard Resistance are a useful item that stops you from freezing in darker areas of this biome. Campfires and light sources will also stop you from freezing. The potions can be brewed with Torchflowers or Blooming Frostwhispers.

Frostwhispers are a flower found in this biome. They only bloom in a snowstorm during the night.

Frost Yetis are strong mobs found occasionally in this biome.

They drop a Forgotten Bag for every player in the current world when killed. This bag contains some rare items like Rimesilver, which can be used to make a variety of items like:

A Cryptid Detector that tells you how close you are to a Yeti

A Tunic that protects you from freezing

& an Axe that is stronger in cold biomes

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kiwi Orchard:

This biome spawns inland of the Mushroom Fields.

The forest consists of a very sparse covering of Kiwi Trees, and the entire biome is very craggy. Shining Champions are a rare flower found here.

Aquamarine ore is found here and is similar to Prismarine. It is a decorative ore.

Kiwis found growing on the trees are a food source found in this biome. Crafting a Golden Kiwi allows for better saturation and Regeneration III in each piece of food.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Silverwoods:

This biome spawns near Old Growth Taigas.

The forest consists of Sylvan Trees, with leaf piles and Silverstone on the forest floor.

Some Sylvan Trees have Silver Resin in them, which is used to make Silverstone Crushers, a block that falls and smashes a player under it when given a redstone signal.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dry Oasis:

This biome is found within Deserts and Badlands.

The Oasis has a sandy floor, with patches of Grass and Water throughout. Oasis Palm Trees and Oasis Lilies generate here as special plant life.

Oasis Ruins are found spread around the biome.

These structures are almost entirely buried and contain Suspicious Sand and a few loot chests. The Suspicious Sand can have a new Armor Trim in it, as well as the Ancient Amulet, which gives the player a 60 second blessing when used. The blessing will give the player more Block Reach, Attack knockback, and Knockback Resistance. The Amulet can be brewed into a potion to make a 3 minute blessing. This will also give the player 60 seconds of Amulet's Curse, which reduces Armor points temporarily.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Autania Forest:

This biome is found in temperate climates, usually near plains and Savannas.

The trees in this biome have pink drooping leaves, which makes this forest somewhat dense. Pink Rose Bushes and piles of leaves are found on the forest floor.

A special Village variant and Old Shrines are strucures found in this biome.

The Autania Village has every workstation every other village has, but the Forest Ecologist is a special profession only found in this village type. The Forest Ecologist will buy and sell items from the mod, along with the Hiking Boots, which are only found by trading. They give you extra Step Height when worn.

The Old Shrine is a small arena surrounded by Torii Gates made of Stripped Autania Logs and Lanterns. A Rusted Knight will always spawn in this structure. The Rusted Knight can drop a new Weapon, the Rusted Gauntlet. This item has low attack damage but high attack speed, with a special charge ability that gives buffs. There are 4 new Enchantments for this item:

-Defensive gives the holder extra Armor Toughness and Knockback Resistance when holding. Max level is III.

-Guarding gives the holder extra armor for a short duration after using the charge ability. Max level is II. Incompatible with Strong Fist.

-Strong Fist makes the charge ability buff the holder even more. Max level is II. Incompatible with Guarding.

-Quickstrike is a treasure enchantment that gives the gauntlet a chance to instantly recharge the attack upon hit. Max level is I.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Enchantment Woods:

This biome is found near most areas with dark forests.

The forest biome contains large and tall trees, with occasional Enchanted Grape Bushes. These Grapes can be farmed by putting them on a Wire Fence.

Recondite ore is found in this biome and can be used to make a Treasure Enchanter and stronger versions of bookshelves.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Forgotten Forest:

This biome is found in tropical areas, like Jungles and Ebony Forests.

The biome is dense with lots of Moss and Podzol. A thick canopy of Oldknot Trees blocks a lot of sunlight in this biome.

Esoxerite is an ancient version of Amethyst found in this biome. It can be used to craft two useful items:

-Warding Glass stops mobs from trying to pathfind over it.

-And the Crystalline Chestplate makes you immune to all forms of damage for one hit when the keybind is pressed.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Marine Forest:

This biome is found usually near colder oceans.

The biome is dense with lots of Kelp and Aquatica Trees.

Sea Otters:

Sea Otters are an endangered species found in the Marine Forest. They can be bred with Kelp. These little critters also love clams! Giving an Otter a clam will make them eat it and give a gift to the person that gave them the clam. Iridescent Pearls are a rare gift you can get, along with a new Armor Trim. Iridescent Pearls can be used as an Armor Trim material, along with making two new items:

-The Waterwarp Staff, which can be used to regenerate your breath or instantly deplete a target's breath

-And the Guardianward Charm, which can remove Mining Fatigue.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Cold Frioro Taiga:

This biome is found in snowier areas of the world, most often near Old Growth Taigas and Snowy Taigas.

The canopy of the forest consists of Red and Green Frioro trees.

Cold Argillite is a unique stone found in this biome. It has many decorative variants. Cold Argillite, Ice, and a Diamond can be crafted into the Freezing Catalyst. This block, when powered by Redstone, will freeze water or lava near it to create Ice and Obsidian. Flowing lava works for the Obsidian conversion, which makes it an easy source of renewable Obsidian!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Gilded Woods:

This biome is found rarely near Birch Forests and the Grim Woods.

The entire biome has been turned to Gold, with the trees being of an entirely new variety of Birch called Goldbirch.

Some Goldbirch Leaves are Cursed, and breaking these has a chance to drop a Cursed Gold Nugget, which can be made into the Midas Forge. This block uses Gildblooms as fuel and will turn tree-related blocks and items (Such as sticks, leaves, and logs.) into Gold. Putting a Netherite Sword in here will make a Cursed Cutlass. This weapon makes mobs drop Gold Nuggets when hit.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Quiet Glade:

This is a common biome found in temperate lowlands, usually near rivers.

There is a very dense covering of plant life on the floor, with semi-sparse Serenial Trees dotting the landscape.

The Serenial Trees have berries growing on them, which can be used as a food source, but they will inflict the Calming effect for 15 seconds. Using this berry to make a Calming potion will extend the duration of the effect, and applying it to mobs with low health makes them stop targeting you.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Crystal Bayou:

This is an uncommon biome found in snowy regions.

Fluorite makes up the floor of this biome, with there being many pools of water with seagrass, sugar cane and lily pads in or near them. Crystonalite trees tower over the swamp, giving the biome a dim glow.

Phasing Crystal Clusters are found often in the pools of water in this biome, and they can be used for a few functional blocks.

-Phasing Crystal Blocks can "Phase" in and out of existence, letting entities pass through them. This phasing behavior can be accessed by using a Phasing Crystal Controller. Inverted Phasing Crystal Blocks do the same action, but just in the opposite state.

-Phasing Crystal Lamps are a light block that can be controlled with a Phasing Crystal Controller.

-Phasing Crystal Controllers are used to "Phase" any Phasing Crystal-related blocks. They are activated by right-clicking.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bonus:

-Finding every forest biome from this mod will give you a special Music Disc and a map to the Silver Castle (See below).

The Silver Castle:

This is a very rare structure that contains the final boss of Into the Woods. It can be found in any Into the Woods biome and contains many traps, guards, and endgame loot. You get a map to the Silver Castle once you find every biome this mod offers. The Silver Chests in the central room can be unlocked with the Champion's Keys the boss drops. The Silver Sweeper is a legendary sword with special abilities found only within this structure's Silver Chests.

                                         BOSS

The Silver Knight:

This is a very strong Boss mob that spawns in the Silver Castle. You spawn this mob by right clicking the Spirit Tombstone during the night. The Silver Knight has many attack patterns, such as spawning Irradiated Skeletons and Frost Yetis, Levitating the player, and Chilling the player. This boss' stats are randomized when they spawn.

Stats:

Hp: 400-550

Atk: 8-18

Def: 12-20

Defeating this boss will give you these following items:

-1 Vs. the Forest Guardian Music Disc

 -2 Champion's Keys per player

-3 Trim Materials (These can be from any mod you currently have installed)

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There will be more forest biomes coming in future updates.
