# Interesting TNT
**Four independent survival versions** — Difficult, MoreDifficult, Easy, and LessDifficult. Each is a complete, self-contained mod variant for Minecraft Java **1.20.1** (Forge). (A separate "Most Hard" edition is a distinct mod and is **not** part of this release.)
> An explosive overhaul that turns TNT into a devastating, multi-tier arsenal, wrapped around a punishing ore-to-endgame progression. Beware: some of what you craft will quite literally destroy worlds.
## Versions
| Version | Mode Switch | Cold Grass & Everfrost Water | End Cold Crystal Logic | Cold Crystal Ore Location |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| **Difficult** | Yes (Simple / Ultra-Hard survival) | Yes | Yes | End (after "A New World") |
| **MoreDifficult** | No | Yes | Yes | End (after "A New World") |
| **Easy** | No | No | No | Overworld, Y −35 ~ −25 |
| **LessDifficult** | No | No | No | Overworld, Y −35 ~ −25 |
- **Difficult** adds two mutually-exclusive game rules — *Simple Survival* and *Ultra-Hard Survival* (default on). In Simple Survival the cold-content blocks are hidden; in Ultra-Hard they appear.
- **Easy / LessDifficult** are the "lite" variants: they drop cold grass, everfrost crystal water and all end-dimension logic, and instead spawn cold crystal ore as a normal-looking ore in the overworld.
- **MoreDifficult** keeps the full cold line (cold grass + everfrost water + end cold crystal ore) but without the mode switch.
## The TNT Arsenal
A tiered chain of increasingly insane explosives. Each higher tier is crafted from **4** of the previous one.
| Tier | Crafted From | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| **0.5x TNT** | 1 TNT → **2** Half TNT | The "cute" one. Tiny, harmless-looking. |
| **5x TNT** | 4 × TNT | Explosion radius ≈ 24 |
| **10x TNT** | 4 × 5x | ≈ 48 |
| **100x TNT** | 4 × 10x | ≈ 96 |
| **1000x TNT** | 4 × 100x | ≈ 300 |
| **10,000x TNT** | 4 × 1000x | ≈ 340 |
| **100,000x TNT** | 4 × 10,000x | ≈ 420 |
| **500,000x TNT** | 4 × 100,000x | ≈ 480 |
| **1,000,000x TNT** | 4 × 500,000x | ≈ 512 (the biggest standard blast) |
**Compressed Half TNT** — the forbidden chain. Every level takes **9** of the previous one: 0.5x TNT → Compressed Half TNT (×1 → ×9), each level 9:1, up to **9× Compressed Half TNT**.
**Bedrock TNT (the Annihilation TNT)** — the ultimate weapon. Crafted from **1× Compressed Half TNT (×9)** surrounded by **8× Compressed Gem (×9)**. It annihilates everything in its loaded range.
Explosion behavior notes (all versions):
- Explosions are **progressive** (chunk-by-chunk / per-tick budgeted) to avoid single-tick lag spikes.
- **Falling blocks** (sand / gravel) do not cascade during blasts, so the world does not lag-spiral.
- Water does **not** flow back into the crater during the blast.
## Annihilation Materials
A dust-to-legend material tree that feeds the Bedrock TNT.
**Annihilation Ore** spawns only in the deep bedrock layer (**Y −64 ~ −60**, all versions), as large sparse veins. It is as hard as bedrock — only the **Unstable Cold Crystal Drill** can mine it. Standing within **2×2** blocks of it inflicts **Radiation**.
Refining chain (each step is one crafted item):
> Annihilation Ore → **Annihilation Dust** → **Annihilation Granule** → **Pinch of Annihilation Powder** → **Pile of Annihilation Powder** → **Annihilation Dust Ingot** → **Annihilation Crystal Ingot** → **Annihilation Mineral Block** → **Annihilation Crystal**
Then:
> 9 Annihilation Crystal → **Compressed Gem (×1)** → …(9:1 each level)… → **Compressed Gem (×9)**
## Cold Crystal System
**Cold Crystal Ore** drops **Cold Crystal** when mined.
- **Cold Crystal** → **Unstable Cold Crystal** (drop it near the ore and it slowly stabilizes, one at a time) → **Unstable Cold Crystal Block** (9:1) → **Unstable Cold Crystal Drill**.
- The **Drill** breaks bedrock and annihilation ore (each drill lasts for a limited number of blocks).
- **Cold Crystal Armor** (helmet, chestplate, leggings, boots): while worn as a full set, it **nullifies radiation for 4 minutes**, then the set shatters and radiation resumes.
## Radiation
Standing within **2×2 blocks** of an Annihilation Ore inflicts the **Radiation** effect:
- Without the Cold Crystal Armor set, you are **instantly killed** after ~1 second.
- On death you **permanently lose 1 max heart** (a half-heart per death, stacking every death).
- In **Difficult / MoreDifficult**, drinking **Everfrost Crystal Water** removes the permanent heart loss.
## Version-Specific Content
**Difficult & MoreDifficult (the full "cold" line):**
- **Cold Grass** — grows on the bedrock ceiling (Y −63, on top of bedrock). Mined with a netherite-tier tool.
- **Everfrost Crystal Water** — brewed from **Cold Grass + Awkward Potion** in a brewing stand. Drinking it grants the **"Stiff"** effect (3s, blocks all input); when it wears off you gain the **"A New World"** achievement (unlocks end cold crystal ore generation).
- **Cold Crystal Ore** spawns inside the End main island and outer islands (only inside end stone, never floating) — but only after "A New World" is unlocked, and only in chunks not yet loaded.
**Easy & LessDifficult (the "lite" line):**
- No cold grass, no everfrost crystal water, no end-dimension logic.
- Cold Crystal Ore spawns in the **overworld** as a normal-looking ore at **Y −35 ~ −25**.
## Achievements
- **"Sweet After Bitter"** — craft the Bedrock TNT (all versions).
- **"A New World"** — only in Difficult / MoreDifficult, via Everfrost Crystal Water.
