Project Overview

Instability is a mod that introduces the track "Instability V3" by LOV3M1ST from The Broken Script into Minecraft via a custom music disc. Instead of just playing music in the background, this mod links the audio directly to how your game window and visual renderer behave, causing the interface to move and change shape based on the intensity of the song.

Core Features & User Experience

This mod alters the default game experience by introducing a series of visual events that line up with the pacing of the audio track:

  • Window Movement: When the music track starts playing, the Minecraft desktop window moves out of its centered position and follows a smooth, continuous swaying motion across your monitor.

  • Timed Shaking Bursts: At specific high-energy moments in the song, the smooth movement stops and turns into sudden, heavy window shaking that mimics the rhythm and drops of the track.

  • In-Game Shaders: The mod modifies the visual rendering of the game over time. Players will see the screen swap to inverted colors or a green tint overlay depending on how far along the song is.

  • Window Title Changes and Popups: The text at the top of the Minecraft game window updates dynamically while the disc is active.

What to Expect

Once the custom music disc is placed into a jukebox, the mod takes over the game client's layout and visuals for the duration of the track. It turns a standard gameplay session into a highly interactive, fast-paced visual display that challenges how players normally interact with the game window.

Note: This mod is a strict one-time-use experience per world. Once the events run through their cycle, putting the disc into a jukebox again will not trigger the window movements or shaders a second time.
